NCIS: Los Angeles Fic: The Three AM Booty Call
There are some stories that just write themselves. This is one of those stories.
The episode that inspired this was The Gold Standard. Kensi made a crack about there being only one reason for a phone call time-stamped for three AM.
You tell me, how was I supposed to resist that?
But the idea for the story was the easy part, because Muse can also be a prude sometimes, so any story that involves sexytimes is a struggle. I know practice makes perfect, but writing porn is simply not easy for me. Never has been, which is one of the reasons why my stories tend to top out at T/PG-13. My stories tend to fade to black just when things start to get interesting. It's a cop-out, but that's what Muse prefers.
Lately, I've been pushing myself to write things I'm less than comfortable with, and porn is definitely one of those things. I've written several stories with a Mature/Explicit warning at this point, but it's still not really easy.
Still, this story came easier than most. It was fun to try to imagine what a three AM booty call would look like for these two. It obviously had to be an established relationship, because first times do not happen at three AM after a phone call (at least in my experience). I thought it would be an interesting way to catch a glimpse of what Kensi and Callen are like when there's no one else around. It was a neat little window into their relationship instead of simply PWP (because Muse cannot write PWP; I don't know why, but there it is).
I know I've written a lot of Callen/Nell lately, but this story proves that my Callen/Kensi muse is alive and well. It's still a pairing I like, but there's been precious little inspiration for these two lately. So, I was glad to have this one practically dropped into my lap.
