i need a job...
So, it's summertime and I need a summer job (just through August). Most people seem to have very little trouble finding a job and having a job. For some reason, things never seem to go as easily for me. Perhaps it's because I'm a bit picky about where I want to work/ what I want to do. The thing is, I had thought of two jobs that would be perfect for me and would look pretty nice on my application to the CP.
The first of these two ideas was to work at the local zoo. Somewhat similar atmosphere and similar guest interaction to WDW. Plus, I love animals and hanging out at the zoo all day seemed like a pretty interesting prospect. The zoo's website wasn't very helpful as far as employment opportunities go, so I emailed them explaining myself and asking if they had any positions available. Unfortunately they don't seem to be hiring anyone this summer, not even people to work in the gift shops. This was disapointing, but the worst part was the impolite response to my email. No apologies or thanks for my interest. Anyways, that was quickly out the door.
My next plan was to work at a Disney Store. I've wanted to work there since middle school (but you had to be eighteen because it was in a mall, blah blah blah). This would also look great for the CP app, and, since Disney has bought back the Disney Stores from Children's Place, I would actually be working for the Walt Disney Company (totally awesome!) However, to my dismay, I soon learned that both of the locations near me had been shut down with the buyout. So phooey!
I'm not sure what to do now. I can't think of anything Disney-related/Disney-helpful I can do here in town. I don't want to do retail or waitress. I guess I'm going to look into hostessing somewhere, or maybe try to find a receptionist/secretary type gig. I don't know, and I don't seem to have any good connections right now either!
Anyways, wish me luck. Oh, and if you have any ideas for me, just let me know! Suggestions are EXTREMELY welcome! Thanks!
