(no subject)
I've had such a headache trying to get these pictures off my phone. The photobucket app + site makes me want to shoot myself. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've also saved a bunch of pics and forgotten to write who took them, sooo. Sorry if you see yours without credit. Stating here: I didn't take all of these! I just wanted some that I was also in to post.
I left Jackson at 6 am Thursday morning. The flights there were okay; layover in Houston, same as always. marieelise0928 and I were going to meet at the airport but our terminals were so far apart that we decided to meet at the hotel instead.
LAX
It was somewhat strange to be in a middle of a group of people I kinda-sorta knew, but almost as soon as I got there one person walked up to talk to me and that made me feel better. I'm not really the kind of person that's going to approach anyone, whether I know them or not, and last year I very keenly remembered feeling awful standing there just by myself while I waited on someone else that I knew to show up. I was also really glad someone else was getting in around the same time as me, and I was only there for about 15 minutes before Marie walked in! We were both pretty hungry and wanted to hit a liquor store up, so we got directions from Darrel, and took off. So Thursday morning consisted of: airplanes, Burger King, Purdy's Package Goods, and then settling down in the lobby at the Marriott to wait on everyone else to arrive.
Marie proved to be Queen of the Newbies, and soon people flocked to her - which was awesome, since one of them had goodies.
Australian beer, Tim Tams, ginaa2/Gin, and marieelise0928/Marie.
We snacked on Tim Tams and had Australian beer and just talked Farscape as everyone showed up. I loved when anyone would walk up; Lisa/Mamageek/jrmstoughchick is tiny and adorable, and jacquelee is so friendly and funny, and I could pretty much listen to vinegar_dog's accent for ages. I know the girls traveling in from overseas has to be exhausted but everyone was so excited.

Once a couple more people had arrived, we decided it was time to hit the bar/get food. We hung out with a bunch of people in the bar area - SylvreWolfe, Robe Guy (Lynn?), Kazbaby... I think most people were just wandering up and leaving again.
That's also where Marie beckoned MICHAEL!!! to come join us, which turned into a truly awesome thing. I didn't really talk much - but, I don't, generally. I still had a blast just listening to everyone though.
Marie hadn't slept in like 2 days at that point, so apparently she decided it was bed time right around when I went to go meet virkatjol in the lobby.
vinegar_dog also showed up some time while we were staked out at that table, but somehow I have no pictures of her from that night. D: And I thought I'd managed to get at least one of everyone. So I stole some more pics here.
We were back to the lobby by the time Mav then Clara got there. I think it was around 11 or so when I decided it was time to go rouse Marie and grab my bag, which I'd stashed in her room way earlier.
We stayed and chatted with her for a minute, until her roommate Stella got in. I grabbed my bag and we headed back to our own room to crash.
And finally, Marie's bed. With a shoe on it.
