Copied from Becka....

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their lives, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute! Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating THAT PERSON? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! [Or don't, or post in comments, as you like.] Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-word answers seldom help anyone out.

FIRST NAME: Linda, tho some rare folks call me Lin... also known as Dizzy, TriXie, Princess, & others!

AGE: 25 (how did I get to 25?! Seems like yesterday I was still 18...)

LOCATION: Media, PA -- home of the "first Fair Trade town" or so I've heard. Quaint shops up and down State Street, as well as a trolley. Within an hour or less, I can drive to numerous malls (including King of Prussia), Philadelphia International Airport, the city of Brotherly Love and all the fun it holds. Within two-three hours I can get to NYC, DC/Maryland, the Jersey Shore, and fun things like the PA Renaissance Faire (www.parenfaire.com) and Hershey Park! I lived for a few years in Philly while I was going to college (art school!), but have been back home since Fall of 2006.

OCCUPATION: I worked for my friend Dan's mom's company, a trucking and warehouse company, doing office work, customer service calls and scheduling, as well as assisting whatever managers needed what. Like coffee. Or water. Or quarterly taxes for our transporting fleet. Or handing out the gifts at Christmas. You name it, I probably did it! Unfortunately, with the shitty economy, they had lay off staff, starting with newer hires and although I had been there for years, I was still "new" compared to others with 5-20 years there! So that left me unemployed, and after a brief week substitute teaching at Salsa in the Suburbs Dance Studio (Salsa, Bachata, & Cha Cha!), when the owner returned from vacation, she hired me on for part time PR/office/assistant help. But I also need to get a FT job soon!

PARTNER: Dave and I have been "officially" together since Jan 4th, 2009. Unofficially, I think that we both knew by Christmas of '08 that this was a definite thing and by some time in early to mid 2009, knew it was a "forever and always" sort of thing. Hell, I'm even willing to negotiate/give up on my dream $80,000 destination DISNEYWORLD wedding. And if you know me, that means a lot! He pretty much means the world to me and I have never been so at ease and so comfortable with a boyfriend before. And I love that we both know we can discuss anything with each other.. including things like the "W" word (wedding!) or rings or children! So let's just say we're both "playing for keeps".... okay. Cue the "Awwwww!"

KIDS: None yet, but Dave and I have a few names picked out that you will hear us jokingly refer to at times. We've even started "kid watching" when we're out by ourselves at the mall. But at the same time, NO RUSH!!!!! We would both like to be married for a few years and get a ton of travelling out of the way before settling down.

BROTHERS/SISTERS: 1 younger sister, Rita.

PETS: Misanthrope, who I got when she was about a year old in '04 or '05 sometime. She's much more affectionate and less skittish now than she was back then when I adopted her from her previous owner. But she can still be a pain when she wants her way!!

3 THINGS GOING ON IN MY LIFE: Just finished attempting NaNoWriMo (www.nanowrimo.org) for, like, the 5th time and although I still haven't managed 50,000 words in 30 days quite yet... I did a little over 30k and for me, that's a lot! There's always next year!

1. Dance. Sometimes I wish I had never stopped taking ballet when I was a lilttle girl. But, for now, I do salsa dancing, including the occassional Performance class at the studio. Being in the spot light can be such an adrenaline rush!

2. Christmas. It's that time of year again! Time for gift shopping and giving and buying boxes of cards to send out. As much as I hate the whole commercialized aspects of the holiday, I still enjoy shopping and picking out the perfect present. I also love the decorations and the lights and want to see more displays this year!

3. Dave. I spent the post dinner dessert time with Dave at his mom's house last year, but was just Dave's female friend. It was my first time meeting any of his family (we had gone on one date at this point), and here I was bombarded with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins! While it a bit overwhelming, I had a great time and can't wait to do it again, FULL dinner/day style as the official "girlfriend." I didn't know it at the time, but I was the first girl he had brought home for the holidays. (His long term ex usually spent the holidays with her family.) I like big families. A lot. And his grandparents on Mom's side are adorable. His PopPop's first words to me: "I dreamnt about you last night!" We've discussed the future on more than one occasion and it's only a matter of time (and money!) before the rings are exchanged and we say "I DO!" I can't wait :)

PARENTS: My parents will have been married for 31 years later this month. They are currently trying to get my dad's company up and running overseas in Hong Kong. While they've never been the most outwardly loving/adoring parents, they do love my sister and I in their own special way. I think that we've learned more from them than we realize.

CLOSE FRIENDS: You win some and lose some. Many friends that I thought would be "close friends" for the rest of my life have starred in their roles and moved on, leaving happy memories behind and laughter. I wish them the best in their futures. Other friends have remained in contact over the years and now we're closer than ever. And then there are my long distance friends that although I don't see/hear from them as often as I'd like, they still remain dear in my heart, friend that I can pick up with right where we left off!

And now for the final days of 2009! See you in 2010!
