i am in all kinds of a great mood right now.
last night after work i went to kim & keith's halloween block party and had a blast. all the buildings in their whole cul de sac were decorated all spooky with lights and props and cobwebs and spiderwebs. in front of their place, which is at the end of the cul de sac, there was a band set up AND a dj, and a girl got on the mic and was singing alanis morrissette and no doubt and melissa etheridge. everyone was all dressed up in costumes and milling around interacting and talking and eating and drinking. it was really neat, i've never been to a party like that before. they live here:

anyway after the party started winding down around 1 a whole huge group of us went up to cabanas.. me, amy, riccio, kim, keith, owen, thornton, sarah, fierce john & his boyfriend jason, and a bunch of other people whose names i just don't remember. david :D and his friend jay were up there already, as was daniel, and some other people we all knew. and we had such a good time at the bar! everyone was already pretty drunk when we got there and the fun times just kept on happening [including: doing jager bombs in the liquor store with the owner's son; fierce john wearing a blonde curly wig and bunny ears, getting the bartenders to call him 'princess' and having one patron tell him he was 'the prettiest summbitch i seen up here all night'; etc etc].
yesterday i went to the beach with hilary and her bf and his friend [i'm sorry girl i don't remember their names lol]. it was super duper nice out, i wish i could have stayed longer!
tonight work was SO SLOW. i had 4 tables between 430 and 630 when i was cut. last night scott had me on a wild goose chase for strawberry pureé for the bar. when i called him from walmart, he actually told me not to come in to work if i was empty handed. i left my house at 5, was supposed to be on the clock at 530, and didn't pull into work until almost 6. they didn't have anything useful at walmart, where scott originally told me they would have what we needed, and keith told me to go to richey's where there were mad lines. i don't understand why they had me get stuff, instead of like, drew, because i obviously didn't know what to get or where to go to get it. anyway, once i finally got to work with the goods scott said he would buy my dinner, so tonight he paid for my skrimp skampi and salad. i paid for my own wine though lol. it was delicious, i don't think i've had a better meal there!
i think part of my good mood is being so excited about new orleans this weekend!! we are going to have such, such an amazing time. we already decided to not waste money on getting a hotel and instead stay up all night drinking coffee and redbull. worst comes to worst there's always that 24 hour bar :) unfortunately i'm working every day this week, but it'll be worth it to have some extra cash to spend. and oh, they joys of getting out of town for the weekend with someone you care about!!!!! <3<3<3
i am feeling slightly better. my cough is still terrible, but i no longer have aches and a fever, and my abs [while way tighter than they used to be] no longer hurt. my friends have been amazing, bringing me medicine and making sure i've been eating and hanging out with me even though i've felt so crappy. i couldn't ask for better people in my life than i have right now! :)
also, i'm tired of being unhappy. so i've decided to no longer be so! even if that means Painful Elimination. i am going to be happy, damnit!, and anyone or anything that gets in the way of that can go fuck a goat!
i want to go to these shows! even though i never go to shows!
