It's now officially mid term break!! I submitted my two last assignments for the term about an hour ago, and am determined to spend the next four days doing nothing, and guilt free. Yeah I have more assignments to begin, but they can wait til Wednesday.
We're heading to Sydney tomorrow! Can't wait to meet my precious niece, catch up with Joe and Carly, take a million photos, spend some time in the big smoke... Em and Stuart are coming too, so it'll be a fun and music filled trip down I think :)
Last weekend was our Church Camp at Sawtell, and it was truly wonderful. The trip down was a little hairy; it had been raining heaps and the whole Dorrigo mountain was practically collapsing as we drove down. Ok, so a slight exaggeration there, but suffice to say - some of our group got stuck in Dorrigo for the night, others went a long way round and arrived at the caravan park around 4am Saturday morning; still others (us!) drove around the signs and braved the mountain, and got there alive.
Gerald Bray was the speaker for the weekend, and his talks of Faith, Hope and Love - These Three were such a blessing, and so timely. I feel as though I had practically lost all of my faith these past couple of months. I haven't been so depressed that I was ready to end it or anything, but I have since realised that the things stressing me out just were taking up so much of my emotional energy that I did really loose sight of the really important, foundational stuff that should support us in times like this. God's unchanging nature; His Grace; our sinful yet redeemed state. Anyway, yeah - total blessing. If anyone is interested in hearing the talks, I highly recommend you
download them here. Gerald is a well known and respected theologian (we have books on our shelf with his name in them!) and definitely worth listening to.
As well as scary trips and great talks, we enjoyed beautiful sunshine, fellowship and some salt water. Diane took really cool photos and Dad has put them up on the site
so we can all enjoy them.
Well, that's that. I really need to go to bed, but there is still so much to do before we leave tomorrow. Sleeping sounds like the funnest option however, so I think I'll go for it.
