Despite it being my first week of holidays, this last week was such a busy one! An exam and birthday party on Monday; a day at home on Tuesday catching up on stuff that has been far too long on the 'to do' list; Wednesday we went to town and I did not stop from 9am til 10pm - catching up with friends, shopping, babysitting, dinner and Bible Study. Thursday and Friday I was at the Pullar's with Robbie and Rosie. I stayed over Thursday night after we all (and others) went on an exciting road trip to Bellingen to see an amazing gig by
Lior! He is even more incredible live than he is on cd, and I was particularly blown away by his vocals on Thursday night. He experiments and does a lot more exciting and amazing and weird stuff with his voice live that on cd, and all with such control! He's also a really impressive guitarist and of course his songs are beautiful. During the days the kids and I drank lots of tea, read, watched movies and did fun sticky craft stuff.
And then yesterday was another full on, exhausting and incredibly fun day of adventures! Will turned 21 on Friday and as part of the celebrations a few of us headed down to Tamworth to climb a massive hill on his parents' farm. It was a really misty, cool day which was perfect for the hike, but a little chilly once we got right up the top! Not as many people ended up coming as was planned, so we all drove down in our van and had fun times in the car. We were back in Armidale by about 2pm - let's face it, we're record making bush walkers! Fran and I stayed in for Will's bbq dinner and spent the arvo helping him prepare which was a ton of fun, and which I think he appreciated as he was functioning on about 3 hours sleep. We cooked and shopped, and watched 'Friends' and random animated film clips about vindictive horses with weird voices.

The View from the Top
It was so high and beautiful and misty and picturesque.
The Group
As David was the primary photographer, there ended up being many more photos of poo and animal tracks than there were of people. So I made us all stop on the way back down, set the camera upon a rock and got a mandatory group shot!

I realised last night in the shower that I think I take friends for granted. Or rather, thanking God for them. They are truly the best things in my life and ever single one of them He's placed there as a source of joy and encouragement. Its really awesome. I spend so much time thinking about all the things I don't have, and this week was a cool reminder to cherish that which I do!
I'm looking forward to the next five weeks which will hold all kinds of similar bits of good stuff.
