... that you're in the city when:
- You've walked past at least two hundred people in the last week and had barely one of them acknowledge your existence.
- You stood at a set of traffic lights, ignoring a car horn that was tooting madly right next to you, only to realise quite a while later that said car is actually tooting at you! (You really learn to ignore a lot of stuff when so much is happening.) I'm not sure which to be more surprised about - that I've adjusted to city snob behavior so easily, or that I was actually tooted at by someone I knew in the traffic ;-)
- You want to go outside to practice lines from a scene but don't, because the man next door will most likely think you're a nutter.
- You're eating dinner and it's 8:40 pm.
- You're the only one in a room of eleven who knows anything remotely connected with milking cows ;-)
- You get asked if you're from the Outback, simply cause well... you were home-schooled.
Ah, so much for this poor country lass to get used to! :-) And I really, really should be researching the life of a milkmaid in early 20th Century London right now, so I guess I really should go. NIDA was fabulous again today after the weekend. But I really should go. I'm sick of research. I never realised how much effort you should put into character histories etc. in order to make them as real as possible. It all makes sense, and I'm sure it gets easier with experience but man! I'm really feeling exhausted. But it's awesome exhaustion, so all is good ;-)
