Application for Apollo Justice, from... Apollo Justice

Oct 04, 2008 22:57

... So either Trucy had learnt how to improve her illusions, or something really weird was happening to Apollo. And, considering the usual events in Apollo's life, if he thought something was really weird, it was pretty darned odd.

Phoenix would have walked past the awkward-looking guy in the red suit, except...

... had he just said Mr. Wright?

(... How does this kid know me?)

He stopped and turned around slowly. "Uh. Who are you?"

Wow, Mr Wright must have been really eager to return to being a defence attorney if he was wearing his suit already. He had only been cleared of forging evidence a few hours ago.

"It's me, Mr Wright," said Apollo, tone quite obviously saying he didn't find Mr Wright's fake-forgetting very funny at all. "Apollo Justice. Wait," he said sharply, suddenly noticing the badge, "How did you pass the Bar Exam so quickly?"

(What is he talking about?)

"You?" Phoenix racked his brain, trying to remember if he'd ever seen this kid before. No way. He would have remembered. "Bar Exam?" He glanced down at his badge and then back at the kid with the funny hair, totally puzzled. "Uh... I passed it years ago?"

"Me," replied Apollo, still Not Impressed with Mr Wright's act. It worked the first two times, but twice only! I refuse to fall for this again!

"I know that," huffed Apollo. "But you have to pass it again, re-mem-ber? Or you already have. Did you get the same badge as before, or did they give you a new one?"

"What do you mean, "you"? What's your name?" Phoenix didn't like this look the kid was giving him.

"What are you talking about?" he demanded. "I've only taken the bar exam once. Why would I have to take it again? I passed!" (I'm not that stupid!)

"I said!" answered Apollo, now dissolving into Chords of Steel-yelling. "Apollo Justice! Defence attorney! I work at the Wright Anything Agency! You're my boss! Your daughter is my assistant! I defended you on a murder charge! Where's your hat?!" (That last bit was yelled not because it had anything to do with Apollo's argument, but because the thought had just occurred to him and it was difficult to turn the Chords of Steel off once he was in full flow).

"Because you were disbarred!" Apollo shouted. "Honestly, Mr Wright, pretending to forget that isn't very funny."

"Whoa, whoa! Calm down!" Phoenix yelled in a frantic attempt to be heard, clamping his hands over his ears. "I've never met you before in my life! I don't have a daughter, I never killed anybody, what hat--

--disbarred?!" (This guy is really off his rocker! I'm not that bad a lawyer!)

For several moments, there was silence from Apollo as he blinked at the lawyer in a blue suit. This definitely was Phoenix Wright, but now he really thought about it there were lots of little differences between this man and the Mr Wright Apollo knew. This man didn't slouch a little, and looked at Apollo instead of zoning out, and had yelled back at Apollo instead of just waiting for the younger lawyer to finish; but more importantly, his eyes were different. He should have noticed earlier, really, but Apollo wasn't in the habit of looking too closely at Mr Wright.

For several moments, there was silence; then, summoning all the power of his Chords of Steel, Apollo shouted, "WHAT?!"

((There's something kind of awesome about Phoenix and Apollo yelling at each other))
