Just trying to keep my ass off my shoulders.
So much going on nowadays...
There is more for me to do than hours in the day. I have several songs in various stages of done- some have lyrics and a tune, others are just a tune or a concept. I've been doing as much karaoke as I can, get the practice in that I need to make my performance as perfect as possible. Anyone who knows anything about us virgos knows we are perfectionistic lil' bitches... I am no exception. I oftentimes find me reminding myself that it doesn't have to be perfect, but I think that's one of the things that makes my art stand out so much. Attention to detail. The goal is to not put too much attention there. Otherwise nothing really gets done.
Speaking of jewels and such, I have a few repairs to make tonight, on some of my personal collection and a few pieces that belong to my friends. Restringing night. Must go get crimps... and 20# test accuflex. This is more for my benefit, a reminder that I need to go do my thing.
I have a new favorite band- Sweatshop Union, they're out of Canada. Pop rap stuff. Highly melodic tunes with a solid beat and crafty lyrics. These guys have more worthwhile things to say than Eminem, but just as well put together. Youtube has videos for "Don't Be Afraid", "Try", "Come Back", "Broken Record", and "The Thing About It" that are kid friendly and edited. The uncensored stuff has intermittent curses, but appropriately put as reiteration of the point that they are making... not for the sake of being crude. I dig 'em.
I'll try to get back on LJ later and say hello to ya'll, I plan to go to Karaoke @ the Royal tonight. Hope to see some of ya there. I need to go hit the shower and get ready for the day.
