Well, it was a nice weekend visiting my family on the Isle of Wight this weekend.  Unfortunately we had to cut the visit short, and head home this afternoon, rather than this evening because of a forecasted storm heading along the south coast this evening.  With 70 mph winds, it's likely the ferries would be cancelled, and we would have been

It's been very windy here for a few hours and we weren't supposed to be getting this storm this evening! Glad you made the wise decision and made it safely home. :D

Thankyou. I think if we hadn't made the 'wise' decision, I'd still be there now!!!
They measured the highest wind speeds in the country of the Needles today - 98 mph - about 2 miles from my parents' house :P

My parents live there, so it's like a second home for me. Yes, the storm has been bad, especially along the south coast. They messured the highest wind speed in the UK today - 98 mph - about 2 miles from my parents' house! Ugh!!

That looks like an awful small ferry. I would be nervous traveling in it during high winds. I'm glad you planned ahead and got home before the worst of the weather started happening. That would definitely NOT be a fun trip in bad weather.
