It's Crowley

With Mr D taking it easy, that means I had an eneventful weekend too.  He's feeling better, but despite that, he spoke to his boss this morning to alert her to the situation and thankfully she's instructed him not to come in at all this week, so he's working from home ( Read more... )

You've chosen the perfect pose to really capture Crowley's essence. Great work!

Very pleased to hear Mr D. is feeling better. I hope he recovers quickly.

Thank you - this is a very early Crowley because he hasn't grown the stubble and beard at that point!

Mr D is all better now and went back into the office today :)

I'm glad Mr D has an understanding employer. Shingles is awful. I know you can get vaccinated against it, even if you've had chicken pox (which I also have), but I never really considered it. Sometimes I think I should. Apparently one's immunity to the virus in both shingles and chicken pox gets weaker over time, depending on how old you were when you had chicken pox and how severe it was? Something like that. I was less than a year old and had a pretty severe case, so I don't know what that portends...

Ha ha, of course I COULD find out instead of just babbling about it. If only there were some sort of small device, carried on one's person, with which I could access a large part of humanity's collected knowledge with a few pokes of buttons! Ah well...

I think Mr D developed it because he had a real hum-dinger of a cold the two or three weeks before this popped up, so I think his immune system was a bit weak.

There is a shingles vax here. Our NHS offers it for free to over 70's and to people over 50 who are immuno-compromised. They've only just started pushing it, so I don't know if it's a new thing here.

That makes sense, that his body was too busy fighting off a cold to be able to handle the shingles virus, too. Similarly, I got a cold sore directly before I got COVID. I often get cold sores in times of great stress, which decreases immunity, too.
