(no subject)
the second installment of vacation post is on hold due to technical difficulties (my phone is having trouble putting pictures online).
in the meantime, i'm off work today as a surprise due to some not totally unfortunate circumstance involving my CNA license renewal. thank god! i was so busy yesterday that i barely got things in order at home. now is the time for cleaning out, putting away, and taking my time.
yesterday i sold the fish tank, and already this has given the apartment a considerable sense of lightness. i feel like it's already starting to empty out, to shift. that said, i still have a ton of things to sort out and dispose of. my neighbor came over yesterday, and when i mentioned this, he said, "wow, you really like this guy, huh?" well, i do, but it's also just a matter of THINGS. i don't need THINGS, i need only myself and whatever creature comforts lend to comfort, efficiency, and growth. anything else is just an artifact from a bygone era or, perhaps, a time that never came. and me, i'm getting over it. getting over the bullshit idea of having to amass items to prove my points. it is true, there's risk here: i am gladly relieving a lot of my possessions so as to start anew with jarred. but really, even if it didn't work out that way, i have to imagine that i'd be glad to still only have the things that are useful and meaningful, as opposed to a ton of stuff that i hoped i'd use over the course of the last ten years... but which, in reality, is only weight to carry from place to place. or, god forbid, all those pictures of ex-boyfriends! we all know how useful those are!
this being the last day of the year (i actually didn't know this until this morning when jarred asked what we were doing to celebrate), i figure it's a good time to share with you my comprehensive playlist of 2010:

it's a sunny day down here in florida. perfect for the new year! what an unexpected number of events have happened this year. i made a great new friend, i got braces, i practiced an epic amount of ashtanga yoga, i discovered the teachings of patanjali and nithyananda, i saw some great concerts, i decided definitively to finish RN, i started off my winding journey into raw vegan lifestyle, i lost 25 pounds, my relationship took a pleasant turn, i took a wonderful retreat, i saw anne, i got an A in AP1, i reconnected with kali, and i enjoyed a white christmas. a good year for me!
