talking to strangers
I said hi to someone as we were leaving the movie theatre tonight. I was with my boyfriend and he was the last person in a group of friends leaving, none of whom I recognized. He looked so familiar, I think I knew him. I said "Hey" (a kind of long-time-no-see! kind of 'hey') and he said "hey" back, and I said "how's it going?" and he said "good and you?" and I said "pretty good. ...Good movie."
We had just finished watching Pan's Labyrinth. It was really good. I cried.
Anyway, so as we step into the more well-lit lobby, I look at the guy and I still cannot place his face. I don't know who he is but he looks really familiar and I can't think of his name or how I know him. THEN I wonder if I actually know him.
Well we weren't going to continue talking really. We just said hi pretty much. So then he is walking with his friends again and I turn back to my boyfriend to tell him what's going on. When we're leaving the lobby (El Con) he is talking to his friend and they both turn back to look at me... and I see his face and am even less sure about whether I actually know that guy. But I am laughing at that point, because I don't know if I was just talking to someone I know but can't place, or just some friendly stranger. :)
