It's been a while...
I havent written in a very long time, but I'm going to give a brief rundown of the last week.
Levi was here! We went to the Banos Arabes, had lots of tapas, went to the Alhambra, drank cafe con leche y cola cao, ate helado, and did lots of other stuff. We also went to Madrid for the weekend w/ my program (Griis) and had a blast. We went to the Plaza Mayor, the Palacio Real, and el Prado (which was AMAZING! I saw all the paintings I have been studying in my art history class). Then he left :-(
Then I had midterms this week. I'd rather not talk about that.
But tonight (Friday) was really fun! A bunch of the girls went to the Shakira concert at the Plaza de Toros but I decided to skip. Paige's aunt and her friend are here, so they invited me to go up to the Mirador (an Alhambra lookout point) with them and Teresa so I went. We went to a bar near there afterwards for a drink, and it turns out that bar is famous for tapas de caracoles (snails) so I had a glass of white wine and snails! I was a little shy, but they were actually really good! I felt very refined. Later, we went to a restaurant that is also up in the Albaicin and had fondue (another first for me). We had salad, 2 bottles of wine, and both cheese and meat (chicken, beef, and pork) fondue, and it turned out only to be 10 euro per person. I love this country. Not gonna lie though, usually a glass of wine is enough to knock me out. I was a little pink in the cheeks by the end. We had a great time though. Then we hit Hannigans but I bailed out pretty early. I'm trying to rest up before Semana Santa begins in Sunday. I can't wait to see all the processions.
