Yay! My long awaited movie post. XD First up! The short Reviews. =D

Chronicles of Narnia: First off, I haven't read the series since middle school so I can't really compare it to the books. It was a fantastic movie. The begining sequence was a bit chilling but nicely done and set a great mood for the first half of the movie. I really like this version of Edmund compared to other versions as he wasn't so much a caricature but an actual fallable person. I never cared for Peter or the other children but I favored Edmund as soon as he did his noble deed in the end. It suddenly had everything else fall into place. The visuals were stunning and intergrated well with everything else. I absolutely loved the music, especially Mr. Tomnas' flute playing. Mr. Tomnas was another of my favorite characters but I definitely loved the actor too. ^_^ Overall, this was a fantastic fantasy story. The religious undertones were subtle enough that I think only Catholic school kids would have notice. Nothing was overtly preachy, that I saw, and was just a sastisfying movie. I sincerely hope they do the rest in the series. ^_^

King Kong: Unlike GoF, I wasn't really anticipating this movie. I kinda liked the 1980s version of King Kong and didn't mind either way if I saw this or not. Problem is, I'm a fan of adventure stories and beautifully rendered CG sequences. It would be a shame to have NOT seen this on the big screen. You really can't capture the awe of Kong on the Empire State Building until you're immersed in it, daunted by the sheer size of him and everything else. And I'm going to be slightly lazy and paraphrase my review with what I wrote in scribbulus_ink's review entry's comment:
It felt a little long in the beginning but I knew it was totally necessary to build the foundations for the characters, and once they got on that ship it was a great ride till the end.

Jack Black's performance in this was superb. It made me realize how great an actor he can really be. He was the ambitious sort but not in the malevolent way like a typical Hollywood villain and he still had a sort of innocence that he didn't lose till the very end. All the characters were brilliant but Carl Denham has to be my favorite next to Kong himself.

Kinda sad we didn't see the aftermath of the crew once they captured Kong as i would love to see how the Captain and Jimmy coped.

And even though the bugs scene freaked me out, I thought it necessary to be in there. You could see the hopelessness that was their situation, that they really were in over their heads in this new world. Brilliant if squicky scene it was. And the slug thingys reminded me a lot of that one creature from the X-Files... The one that lived in port-a-pottys. XD

And I wonder, was I the only one who thought there may have been a thing between the cook and the Chinese man? He was rather emotional when he died.

Any questions? =D

Aeon Flux: Never got a chance to really watch the series when it was on MTV. I remember seeing it on though. When I found out Charlize Theron was playing the main character, I kinda lost my interest in the movie. Not that Theron isn't a good actress but I just didn't see her fit the role well. Any rate, she did a damn good job. The entire movie was a helluva lot better than I had anticipated. Although I'm sure everything was more explained in the tv series the movie did a good job to explain everything and show all that needed to be shown in a matter of two hours. Storyline was excellent and paced rather well. The other actors did a fine job and the CG wasn't too gaudy for being sci-fi. I also like the costumes in this. They were pretty neat. All in all, a good comic book/animation turned movie adaptation. Even if you wait for rental, definitely a enjoyable watch.

Cheaper by the Dozen 2: Just saw this today. ^_^ Really wanted to see Just Friends but the next showing was too late and was only playing at one theater. =( Any rate, this was a funny movie. Not HILARIOUS but it had it's moments. Not enough Tom Welling though *sigh*. Not bad for a sequel and like most movies with Steve Martin, it has a heartwarming family feeling about it and a cute story. But yeah, a couple a really good moments and one that included Hillary Duff, hehe. Definitely a rental.

Da Vinci Code: Saw this trailer recently in the theaters. I'm highly looking forward to this movie as I have read the book and would love to actually see all the various artworks used. Plus I think it's Audrey Tautou's first American movie, so yay! I must say though, I think the trailer shows too much for this being a mystery story.

Superman Returns: It's interesting how they use the voice of Kal El's father from the previous movies onto this. First saw the trailer while watching Smallville. =D Worried about this movie...Dunno why but I am. Nevertheless, I shall see it! Even if I don't like the actors in it. ^^;;

X-men 3: *squeels* Don't care if it's a teaser trailer.... It looks dang good! If only my Gambit were in it. *sigh* I really like the look of Beast, and the fact that it's Kelsey Grammar in there is just wicked! =D Anyone else dying to see this???

Mi:III: DUDE, with all that was going on with him and whats-her-name, I COMPLETELY forgot they were making this. Seems like all the players from the last one will be in this one. =D I was always fond of Ving Rhames' character. Well, least the action sequences will be fantasmic! ^_^ Storyline of mi-2 wasn't that great so I can only hope this triquel will be better.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: *fangirlsqueal* Seeing this trailer on the big screen was great! =D Ya gotta *luv* Jack Sparrow. ^_^ This movie is gonna be so much fun. And it looks like the humor is spot on again. Can't wait. XD

Underworld - Evolution: Seen this trailer a lot on HBO but yeah great to see it on the big screen. Snupin fandom has ruined me. I kept seeing those werewolves and all I can think of is mm Remus. Any rate, although I love strong heroine movies, I hope her boyfriend gets some more time in this one actually doing stuff. Looking forward to this one.

Okies, gonna run off and write a quick snupin x-mas fic cause I completely forgot about my challenge that's due..... ^^;; On trillian if anyone wants to chat it up! ^_^
