books are what makes the world go round XD
Wow, this has been a fantastic day. Why? I skipped class, spent it w/ maril and z, and bought a book. XD
We decided to go to the dreaded Stonestown, since zeia's been hankering for Panda Express. So we did what we usually do, meet at Borders. Z and I happend to be riding the same M so we met up w/ maril in the magazine rack.
We then headed over to the manga section (just before a horde of lowell kids came by). Maril decided to get the second volume to X-day. Her and Z went off to the line (as they were long) and I headed to the Sci-fi/fantasy section. Now I really didnt have the money to buy anything or the time to peruse the section, but I always check in hopes of finding one particular book. And as I was searching for the name Kellog, I found it. The Book of Air. I couldn't believe it, there it was! The last volume of the Dragon Quartet by Marjorie B. Kellog! XDXD I've been waiting for years for this series to conclude and it has! w00tai! So I grab it and run to where maril and z are. Maril's estatic also as I got her hooked on the series right after i read book one. so i pay $7 (so cheap compared to mangas) and just gush for the next few hours.
After spending some time at stonestown and buying a late lunch, we head off to the bus stop. Once again i begin raving about my purchase, and marilyn mentions the Alanna books by Tamora Pierce. I got her hooked on that series also. XD It's so weird that she mentioned that series since i've been recently having a discussion @ Go-Gaia about Tamora Pierce in the Writers forum. Anyhow so we begin discussing the Alanna books and how there's a new one w/ her daughter. Heh, poor z has no idea what we're talking about. then maril and i both lament on the fact that we haven't read (w/ the exception of HP and The Nanny Diaries) a book for fun in ages. Z's not much of a reader but she did read the Ender's Game series. I love Ender's Game, but I never had the heart to read the others.
I've finally realized why i've been unmotivational (part of it is from what i wrote below). i dont read anymore. my creativity has been low b/c i havent had a chance to explore another world. i've been stuck in this one far too long. So i'm happy. i have a book to read, i'll be exploring it, and i finally can end the saga of the four dragons. it's been a fantastic day.
