Various Star Trek Drabbles Part Seven

Jun 24, 2010 23:13

Fwee, another round of old drabbles from bridge2sickbay. All but the first are based on the theme of dessert!

Prompt: Kirk, McCoy - Doctor finds interesting way to keep his Captain safe.
Rating: PG
(Dialogue drabble.)

"Jim, I've had a revelation."

"Oh? Well that can't be good."

"Brat. Do ya want to hear it or go back to the bridge?"

"What's your revelation, Bones?"

"I've realized why you go head first into dangerous situations and allow yourself to get hurt."

"I don't allow myself and stuff just keeps happening to me."

"..."

"Most of the time...So pray tell, Dr. Bones, what is the reason?"

"Other than your love for your crew and ship you have no other incentive to try and keep yourself in tact."

"You wouldn't bring this up if you didn't have a solution for your supposed diagnosis of me."

"Don't pout. And yes I do. It's me, rather, us."

"Us? Bones what the hell do you--Mmph!"

"Mmm, think we need to take our friendship to the next level, Jim. Maybe if you know coming home safely means me in your bed, it'll work."

"Bones, you're not just doing this..."

"No Jim, I'm doing it cause I love you, you idiot."

Prompt: McCoy, Uhura - Tiramisu
Rating: G
(Gen-ish)

Nyota loved complexity of things, from language to music, to food and of course to people.

Which was why she enjoyed watching McCoy sometimes, when he's waiting for Kirk to finally show up at the bar that most people at the academy enjoy. From the few times she's chatted with him, she knew he tried to show off a grumpy divorcée exterior, but there was so much more to him than that, and it intrigued her.

Taking the chance that Kirk would fail to show up, as he often would on date night, she took her dessert, a nice decadent tiramisu, and approached him.

"This seat taken?"

Leonard looked up, and smiled. "Be my guest."

Oh, yes, he had many layers, and she was planning to find out everyone of them.

Prompt: Spock, McCoy - Lemon Pudding
Rating: PG
(Gen)

"Damn it!" Leonard scowled at the nearly empty pudding tray in the Mess Hall. All that was left was chocolate and tapioca, neither of which he cared very much for.

"Who keeps stealing all the lemons?" he muttered under his breath, opting to take no dessert this time around.

As he walked to find a good seat, he noticed Spock in the corner with a tray full of...

"Hey!" Leonard shouted as he approached Spock's table. "Who said you could take all the lemon puddings? They're for everyone not just green-blooded hobgoblins!"

"Doctor, over the past few weeks I've observed there are only two other people on the ship aside from the chef that enjoy these. As they are off ship currently, I thought it would be best to 'seize an opportunity' as they say."

Leonard sat down. "And what about me? Surely you observed that I enjoyed them also."

"You have a 33% chance of being here when I have my lunch."

"So you're saying you took a chance I'd not notice."

"I do not mind sharing half of these with you."

Leonard grinned. "Don't mind if I do."

Prompt: Uhura, Gaila - Chocolate Cayenne Cookies
Rating: PG-13
(Uhura/Gaila)

"Mmm, chocolate!" Gaila squealed as she dipped a finger into the batter and narrowly missed Nyota thwacking her with a spoon.

"No touching the goods until it's in cookie form and baked."

"Aww," Gaila pouted. "But can't wait that long." She slid her arms around Nyota from behind and rested her chin on her shoulder.

Nyota smiled but shook her head. "I'm almost done here. Just have to add the cayenne and spoon drop them on to the baking sheet." She leaned back against Gaila.

"Ooh, I do like a bit of heat to my sweet." Gaila emphasized her statement by nibbling Nyota's ear.

"You're terrible." Nyota stirred in the chopped up pepper.

"Not what you said last night," Gaila purred, running a finger up and down Nyota's stomach.

"Do you want to have some cookies for after dinner or not?"

"Only if I get my dessert first."

Nyota sighed dramatically and used a finger to get some of the batter from the spoon. She turned around in Gaila's arms and sucked her finger before leaning in to kiss.

"Mmm, spicy, just how I like it," Gaila grinned as she pulled Nyota to the floor.

Prompt: George, Winona - Milky Way
Rating: G
(George/Winona)

Winona was tired, more than tired. All she wanted to do was sleep for the next two shifts. But as soon as she got inside her quarters, there was a flower and note on her table. She frowned as the only other person to know the code was her good friend who still was working her double shift. The note told her to slip into something comfortable and be at the observatory by 0300, which was fifteen minutes away.

"George, what are you up to?" she asked out loud as she went to put on a camisole and her favorite pair of academy sweats.

As expected, the corridors were empty and she was in the observatory with minutes to spare. She could barely see the silhouette of George, illuminated only by the stars outside.

He turned around when the doors closed and laughed softly at her outfit. She smiled as he was only wearing sweats from his old college. Before she could ask what the hell was going on, he pulled her into a kiss. They kissed and nipped each other's lips playfully for a few minutes until the room was nearly lit up.

Turning towards the window she gasped. Being in a far quadrant of known space, they were awarded with a very different view of the Milky Way Galaxy. It was brief as the ship jumped to warp, but she was still awed by it.

"Oh George..." She looked into his eyes, smiling.

"Marry me," he whispered. Winona answered with another kiss, no longer tired.

Prompt: Kirk, Gaila - Cheesecake
Rating: G
(Gen)

When Gaila wakes up the first time, Jim is there and she sends him away. She's too raw and sore and still in so much pain that she can't even look at him, let alone anyone else. When she wakes up the second, it's to a tearful Nyota with a silent Spock nearby. She doesn't say anything but for once her and her roommate don't need words to express their thoughts. The third through fifth times, it's to a doctor or nurse and she misses having other visitors.

The sixth time is special. There's no one there and she takes a deep breath, grateful for the respite. She does notice a white box with a dark pink ribbon on the nightstand next to her with a card. She slowly sits up, glad she can without anymore help, and puts the box on her lap. The note is from Kirk saying how sorry he is and that he wishes her a fast recovery. She doesn't know what to feel about that so she unties the ribbon and opens the box.

Inside is a strawberry cheesecake, her favorite. She doesn't know if she can forgive him yet, but it's a start.

Prompt: Trip, T'Pol - Sugar Coated Pecans
Rating: G
(Implied relationship)

"Sweets aren't supposed ta be logical, or healthy, that's the whole point!" Tucker ranted at her as he sat down next to her.

T'Pol looked down at the bag of sweets that he handed to her earlier. "Another one of Earth's enjoyments, then? To eat something without any intrisical value."

Tucker ran a hand through his hair. "I'm sure it's just not earth but yeah, you could say that. These are different. They do have a bit of a health benefit."

"And you bought them for me to try." It was quite amusing to see all the expressions she could get Tucker to make with simple statements. He sighed and nodded.

"It's a favorite of mine. My mother used to make them from scratch, simple really."

It was rare whenever T'Pol could make it back to Earth, and sometimes even painful for her. She narrowly survived the destruction of her home planet and like most Vulcans committed herself fully to their new home. But after a year of constant toiling, she took the opportunity to go back when summoned. When her official duties were finished, found herself in a familiar store, though changed after these many years.

"And what would you like today, ma'am?"

She gave the other person a fond smile as she asked for a bag of sugar coated pecans.

Prompt: Scotty, Uhura - Pixie Sticks
Rating: G
(Gen-ish)

It took nearly four months of knowing the man to finally figure out who or what Montgomery Scott reminded Nyota of. And when she did, she laughed and had to tell him.

"Pixie Sticks?" he asked, confused.

She nodded. "They were very popular with the kids in my neighborhood. You do know what they are, right?"

Scotty leaned against the engineering console. He was on his break when Nyota found him. "Aye, that I do, was never a favorite of mine. But I don't get how I remind you of 'em."

Nyota grinned. "Well I like them. It was always a fun and refreshing treat that never failed to pick me up."

It took a moment before realization dawned on his face. "Oh." He smiled at her. "Thank you."

She leaned against the console next to him, arms touching. "I think I still have a few left from the bunch I smuggled on board, if you ever want to come by and change your opinion on them."

"Mmm, I'd like that."

Prompt: Kirk, McCoy - Lollipop
Rating: PG
(Gen-ish. Not too fond of it, must've rushed it.)

Jim was now regretting sharing the candy he got from the halloween party with Bones. His roommate didn't go as he had a "very important exam" in the morning that he actually had to study for.

Specifically he regretted giving Bones a lollipop as what that man was doing to it with his lips and tongue should be illegal.

"Mmm," was all Bones said as he kept sucking on it and reading from his PADD, oblivious to Jim's staring.

"Gonna take a shower," Jim mumbled, trying to get up from his seat without causing too much attention to his crotch.

Bones pulled out the lollipop with a loud smack of his lips. "Don't use all the hot water," he warned.

"Trust me, I won't."
