Playing Devil's Advocate Here.

Okay, a thought occurred to me while I was in the shower just now. Why, other than the assumption that the Bible is word for word fact, and human ego, does Creationism have to mean that evolutionary theory is false?

To make it clear why I'm dismissing the "Bible is word for word fact" issue, I will simply state that I have encountered enough ( Read more... )

I think the problem comes when you add Christianity. I believe that if we were talking about the single god blind watchmaker theory, then yet a God and Evolution is perfectly possible. God set up the universe and is watching how it runs

However if you are Christian YOU HAVE to believe that humanity was so important that God Create Jesus Christ to redeem us from our sins and save his chosen people, that's what a Christian is. Therefore he must have meant for humanity to exist in his image. Now this is not entirely at odds with evolution either, you just have to work under the assumption that he is Omniscient so he could see the results of the original setup that he put in place, so he set up all the atoms in the big bang so it would lead to humanities creation. Of course if he did this, it is just as easy for him to see every action we would ever make... Therefore leading to us having no free will.

Now of course there is another option. That he designed humanity to ascend to godhood. Now I'm pretty sure we are not gods at the moment... except possibly me. Now if we were gods, we too would be omniscient and omnipotent and that leads to lots of possibilities. If this happened it would actual cause God with a capital G to actually have free will. As a Omniscient creature can not tell what another ones will is, it kind of cancels out. Now the reason this would be a positive state of events would be that he would no longer know the results of his every action and therefore not know what he was going to do before he did it....

ER I HAVE TO GO TO WORK... might come back to this later.

That explanation depends upon the human ego aspect. I was asking if there was any reason other than human ego that could explain why God had to create us fully formed in his image in the start.

But basically you're saying the problem with my hypothesis is Christianity is another face of the human ego, so you can not remove the human ego factor without killing the faith?

I'm saying that Christianity as a faith is base on some basic premise.
1. Christ Lived
2. Christ was the son of God
3. Christ died for our sins

Now what I'm saying is that you can't really have Natural Evolution created by God to create humanity in his image, Sin and a caring God all at the same time. If god is omniscient and able to set up the big bang to create humanity in his image, he must be able to see every ripple of Chaos possible, therefore he must know our every action before it happens, leading to a lack of free will, if you have no free will you can't have Christian article of faith 3 as Sin can't exist because how can you sin if your every thought was set up at the big bang.

The other option is God set the universe in action from a good setup and then watched it involved, therefore he took no active part in the active creation of humanity. Therefore not a christian god.
