Bookstore Art displays.

Weee, I went over to the city (San Fran) with my Mom and her Crazy Texan on Monday. Funness, once we found parking.

We were headed to the Adobe Bookstore, where there was an art installation by Chris Cobb (Click for info on the installation). Basically Cobb and a crew went through the bookstore and resorted the books by the color of their spines, instead of by their subject matter and author. I was certainly something to look at, and Adobe is one of those lovely hole in the wall stores with all sorts of treasures to be found. Unfortunately, while we were there, the guy who was sitting behind the front desk wasn't up for the task of trying to figure out where I could find the book I was looking for, if they had it. Oh well, I did end up buying a book from them anyways, a silly one that I believe Gale had read part of one of the stories in it to me over the phone a while ago. It's called Politically Correct Bedtime Stories. Most amusing and silly stuff.

After leaving that store, we wandered into a thrift shop, went and fed the meter, then had lunch at the Pork Store Cafe. I had a really kick ass BLT, with a salad that looked like lawn clippings. I ate all the tomatoes out of it, and munched on some of the lettuce bits. My mom was sad I left bunches of lettuce on the plate, but she'd ordered fries so I really don't see why she was complaining. She didn't order the salad.

We wandered into a few other bookstores in search of the book I'd really wanted (The Creation of the World and other Business by Arther Miller), popped into another random shop or two on the way, including a T-mobile store so I could investigate the phone I was curious about. We ended up having to run off quickly because of a lack of bathrooms. That was annoying.

In other news, I will probably be switching to T-mobile for my cell phoneness. And because the phone's currently in my dad's name, it'll probably be more fuss than it's worth to get the number ported... I'm not really all that attached to my cell phone number, so no biggie. Besides, there are a couple of people I'd like to not have my cell phone number anymore, so switching numbers can be a good thing. And pretty much anyone who I want to have my number, I talk to them regularly enough I can give them the new number. The other reason porting my serve as a problem, is that the phone I want, the Nokia 6800, currently has a web only rebate on it, to bring it down in price so it's much more reasonable, and I doubt they do online porting anyways.
