Why, it's Coachella Speculation Time!
The dates have been announced as April 29th and 30th, so of course everyone's running around tha intarwebs looking for conspicuous holes in people's tour schedules that would dump them in Southern California the last weekend in April.
So far, the only really confirmed confirmed people I've heard of were Depeche Mode (filling the big 80s synth legend slot) and Lady Sovereign, neither of which is a huge surprise.
Oh, and Paul Oakenfold. God, the big tent is such an afterthought these days.
Supposedly, the ninjatune.net website used to have a listing for Coldcut appearing at Coachella this year, and someone screencapped it, but it's not up now.
And just to add some baseless speculation to the mix, in their interview with
Re:Up, the guys from Boards of Canada talk about how they've been preparing a live show for the past three years and they're just about ready to debut it, and they get a lot of offers from festivals but they would want to go somewhere where they could have a more relaxed and intimate environment than most festivals. I know, they're rumored every year, but I'm just sayin'...
