A lot of shit has been going in a lot of directions. Good and bad.

Today was my last day of classes until my senior year of high school. I think maybe my senior year can be better. Sunday night I'm going to see/interview the Arctic Monkeys and We Are Scientists, come back 2am, exams start Monday.

I'm taking my exams all in three days because Thursady I leave Bonnaroo. Seniors graduate Friday but in a way I feel it's apt that I don't attend. In like a lion and out like a lamb, I suppose. For a while I had it going that I'd made some pretty close connections with people but I've been kind of wondering about that.

I went to Myk's apartment yesterday with Dustin and we made our plans for our trip. It finally feels imminent. Dustin's sister is graduating Thursday so he's making the 11ish hour drive Thursday night while Myk, I, Pablo, and Dave (who finally decided to go) are leaving 8am Thursday morning. I'm kind of excited about the maudlin group of folks I've got going.

Myk: Late 20s. Does the Activate! (local shows for the upcoming week) radio show, waits tables at Sine and is studying sociology and has a nosering
Pablo: 19. Went to elementary, middle, and high school with me and my brother. Washes dishes and cooks at the Taphouse, studies Spanish and film at VCU, has sweet tattoos and a Mohawk.
Dustin: 29. Does the overnight shift at WRIR, cooks at Bamboo, a bar.
Dave: 35. Works at Plan 9. Goes to Bamboo to drink. Knows everything about music.

This trip should be interesting.

I also finally got a tour of the unfinished Toad's Place. That's the concert venue I'm going to be doing my internship at. It's amazing. It's going to be really posh without being exclusive. It will open in full in November and by then they want me to have my internship hours done so that I can become a paid staff member. I'm excited about that, but sort of daunted by doing both that and going back to work at Can Can the end of the month.

I can walk but I'm definitely not ready to go back to work and I'm not sure how my ankle will like Bonnaroo. Time will tell.

Last night I also went to see Buzzy and Harry play at the Stratford Grille. They play covers and did Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Stones, Zeppelin, Cream, a lot of 60s and 70s music. Buzzy was on an amped acoustic and Harry was on electric and they were amazing. When I came in, Buzzy said hi to me, and as I left during their break, four different people came up to me to compliment my DJing. I was really happy about knowing people at some redneck bar listen to my britrock radio show. One of the women, a friend of Buzzy's told me when his back was turned that he'd talked about how he was impressed with my musical knowledge and capacity. Acceptance from a man who I respect a LOT. Buzzy has over 10k records, reads a lot, is vegetarian, has never smoked or drank, and knows everything about every band ever.

I told my mom that she should marry Buzzy because I think he's divorced. Then I'd inherit 10k records. But that's another story. She's not impressed with Buzzy and she's only just started seeing a divorce lawyer this week. Maybe things are moving along now. Hopefully a bit faster than my ankle.
