Hello all.

I am new to this group, and I have been having some problems trying to find resources for learning how to make your own silk screen. I have finished working on a few designs for t-shirts, but I hit a dead end. If anyone knows about diy screen printing, please comment, I really need your help!

Thanks!

Now, If I want to use a black shirt with white ink, will the white ink actually show up white, or a washed out color? I am so excited now about FINALLY making my own shirts. Thankyou for all of the info.

I use white fabric paint on black shirts....you may have to do a few layers, but it'll show up.

:) off topic - but I saw your LJ name and recongnized it from the local yahoo goth board.

Anywho - I too am making a stencil using a black shirt and the same lj tutorial that was posted earlier. I have found that you need to put down a few layers of white for it to show up. And it's good to use white as a base if you plan on using any other colors over it.

I live in Hollywood - I tend not to go into the Miami area much. Haven't been down to the Kitchen in some time. I'll go down to the area if I have a job, like this Saturday night in S Beach. On occasion I'll go to Vamp since it's closer to me.

Btw, ever go to the downtown Miami shops - awesome stores there for fabric, hats, gloves, buttons :)

That's one area I've been meaning to go back to on some Saturday morning.
