I googled around and found an inflatable underwear mannequin that I will probably use for my farmers market booth. I hope it's not too fragile for customers to manhandle, but if it is I'll cover it with cloth or duct tape or something.

I was also thinking.....I'd then sewn the corresponsing hook/eye to the front of the holder bit - but since there is a hook on one strap and an eye on the other strap, you can hook them together - like they go when you wear the bra.... (which is how I did it to put it on, hook it around my hips, then reach down and pull the crotch part up, undo the waist strap and hook them on)... you could make the front of the crotch-part have a loop/casing end (fold it over and sew down), and you just thread the shoulder strap parts through that.
This is a great idea! My original thinking had been that it would be more comfortable to wear metal clasps at the back than at the front, but this way they would be nicely encased and easily accessible.
I've got a couple more bras that I was going to throw out, and they are different styles, so I'm going to experiment with converting them to belts too....
Yay! This is fun. Thanks for sharing your experiments.
