how to adapt a baby shirt to dog shirt

Ive been a member of this community for a while and decided to finally post my first entry! This is such an adorable community btw :) This is a great way to get unique, custom clothing for your dog for DIRT CHEAP!!! If your dog is as spoiled as my baby is, this would be a great addition to their wardrobe. This is a no sew project, but if you are feeling productive unlike me, you could cut it apart and sew it back together however you want.

To start measure your dog. (My dog usually fits 12mos to 18mos, it depends upon the sizing of the clothes really...) Then pick a T-shirt you find suitable for your baby

I got this from the $0.25 section of my favorite local thrift store.

Next measure it against your dog as to where to make the alterations

With my Ein the sleeves were too long. Everything else was a great fit.  I measured against his front legs as where to alter them.

I took about 6' off the sleeve and came out with this result

To make an even cut I put both sleeves together and snipped off the other sleeve (most important trick FIDM taught me!)

The result: A new shirt and a happy Corgi :) (Please excuse my messy room *blushes*)
