there are so many qualities
that I hate in people
but the one that gets me the most
has got to be
ARROGANCE,
the air that one has
of too much pride,
when one not only crosses
the line of pride
but they proceed to shit all over it
and fly over to the other side.
Now I may be rambling because
I can't read my textbook any longer
or I might have to gouge my eyes out,
but let me give everyone out there a tip:
no one likes an arrogant person
and you may be a smart person
or you may be a pretty person
but keep your pride to yourself
because I don't want to hear it anymore
Like this one guy I had class with this past
semester,
he was a very intelligent young man
and he was full of worldly knowledge and
was very cultured,
but I couldn't stand him because
talking to him (like other arrogant people I know)
was like scraping out the bottom of my stomach
with a stainless steel spoon:
It hurts
and I decided that perhaps his arrogance had
gone too far
so I put him in his place
and the funniest thing is
arrogant people either don't realize when
the rest of the world is rolling their eyes
at their stupid stories
or they're so wrapped up in themselves that
they don't care
so yes,
pride in one's self is a wonderful thing to have
but when you see me looking the other way
when you talk or I seem distant on the phone
or you catch me rolling my eyes
take notice:
YOU'RE ARROGANT
and that's why everyone secretly hates you.
