ice storm and no power
The power went out last night at 945pm and it hasn't come back on yet. We had a wire down in the driveway. Called hydro, called 311 no answer. Called 911 and got the fire department and they came in 1 hour. :) Unfortunately this wire is the one that connects us to the power grid so we will not be getting power back as soon as everyone else does. :(
After the firemen secured the wire we were able to move the huge tree limbs off the driveway. One almost hit the car. It touched the bumper but for the most part was hung up on a piece attached to the porch for hanging plants. Awesome. Little metal thing protected the car from smashed trunk and windows. :)
One of our other trees also lost a limb and smashed the railing on the neighbour's deck. Naughty rough maple! Who knew it would be the maple trees knocking out the power and smashing decks not the diseased ash trees infested with Emerald ash borer!
