Whoo!  I have internet again!  It was down for a few days, don't really know why.  The repair guy came this morning, and he didn't really know why either, according to my mom.  Which confuses me, because he fixed it.  But whatever.

Basically, things are going well.  I find my job generally interesting, it pays well, yada yada.  I've been seeing a lot of many of my Ann Arbor-type friends, especially the lovely lady I've been dating for three and a half weeks now.  As of this past Thursday, I am also giving contacts a try, so if that goes well, I might look a bit different the next people see me.  They're still a pain, in terms of getting them in and in terms of wearing them (things look a little strange, but I think that will go away once my brain adjusts, and now that I've got glasses with the same prescription,  that will probably help too since I won't be switching back and forth.)  But anyway, I'm giving them a try, and will suspend judgement for a couple of weeks.

This past week and a bit has been fun.  I spent six evenings out of it with Lauren.  So for the first few days of last week, my schedule was: wake up, do the morning routine, go to work, get back from work, call her, leave, get back, sleep, repeat.  Monday we went out to dinner and then watched a movie with some friends of hers in Chelsea.  Tuesday we went to see Harry Potter with Alexis (another high school friend) and her boyfriend, also Dan.  We decided that the Dan's are going to take over the world, and that HP was alright, but the first half needed to be less choppy.  Wednesday, we went over to the Michigan Union, where we heard there were swing dancing lessons for $3.  That again was with Alexis and Dan.  Thursday I just took some down time (other than going and spending an hour trying to get contacts in at the optometrists), which I needed a bit of.  Friday I was over at her apartment, and we began the process of correcting the fact that she hadn't seen the original Star Wars trilogy.  The weekend consisted of loafing around the house, then cleaning up (my mom was gone for the weekend, so by the end of it the house was a wreck, especially the kitchen) and hanging out with Chris.  Monday was Empire Strikes Back with Lauren, yesterday was hanging out with a small group (Chris, Lauren, Laura, Lindzie, and myself), and tonight was out to dinner with my family followed by singing with some guys I knew in high school (including Chris) who are trying to start up an a cappella guys group.

So yeah, I'm pretty happy.  Rehearsals with the Boy Choir start again this coming monday, and I leave for Progue two weeks from today, which is exciting.  I've got a wonderful girlfriend, a good job, and friends I see on a regular basis.  I do miss people from Albion, but I've been keeping busy enough here that the lack hasn't been getting to me.  I almost saw #3 today (it turns out he was in ann arbor) but because my internet was down until after I left for work (and I was gone at work all day and doing other stuff in the evening) I didn't get his message in time.  Oh well, some other time, Dave.

And if anyone else feels like stopping by, that'd be fun.  I don't have my own car so don't really drive anywhere, but chances are with a little warning I could find an extra mattress or two if someone needed to stay the night.
