"You've got the cutest ass I've ever seen!"

I guess I probably have some sort of record now for comments on a live journal post. I'm glad that people made decent points on both sides, and I want you all to know that I don't hold any bad feelings against the people who posted. (Except for a few of the anonymous comments, but I have no way of knowing who they were.) I also realize I have to balance out that post with a positive post that won't get the entire senior class upset with me. Paul Savaiano says, "I suggest fluffy bunnies. It usually does the trick. About 9 times out of 10." So here is a quite adorable drawing I found on Google Images:

I've probably spent a bit to much time recently philosophizing about teenage life, and not enough time just enjoying it. I'll have plenty of time to sit alone worry about the problems of humanity later in life, and it is probably more important that I spend the next few months having fun with the awesome people who have made my high school life the wonderful experience that it was.

And speaking of how great high school was for me, I am going to give you an unnumbered list of events in the past four years that made me really happy.

  • Playing in a rock band with Mr. Hendee as the lead singer
  • Having a dance party with Carrie Gaylord on the band bus with her iPod
  • Taking pictures of Mike Markese in Scotland
  • Making up a song called "Mr. Yamulka" with Will Dagger after Jazz Band
  • Requesting "Dancing Queen" by ABBA with Gillian Jackson at a GEYC dance
  • Playing a game with my sister Katie that involved catching a Föm pillow on our faces
  • Playing a game with Twizzlers on the band bus (Ask me for rules. It is a great party game.)
  • Walking all over Glen Ellyn, Lombard, and Wheaton with Dr. Ue Gilbert late into the night
  • Dancing with Hammy during Jazz Band
  • Buying a 5'x3' pirate flag in Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Singing John Linnell's State Songs with Jessi Reddick
  • Rapping in front of sold out auditorium
  • Asking Clare Dorin out after liking her for a ridiculous amount of time
  • Being with Clare
  • Learning that my "Atom Batty" song had become a big hit in Wes Green's dorm
  • Watching the Blast DVD twice with a group of guys in Scotland
  • Having Mrs. Urban give me the social studies department award
  • Conducting random songs with Paul Savaiano
  • Seeing Mr. Fox do the "Time Warp" at the Diviners cast party
  • Pretending to be a couple with Will Robinson during the I Remember Mama auditions
  • Doing the "Ana Ng" dance with The Treeo (Joe Loffing, Dr. Ue Gilbert, and myself)
  • Getting my mom to buy me more pink clothing
  • Staying up all night twice at Theatre Fest talking with Dr. Ue Gilbert one year and Brian Hughes the other
  • Meeting a totally drunk Darren Wilson on the street at four in the morning on New Years
  • Directing Gross Encounters and spending time with everyone that was involved
  • Meeting John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants
  • Having my step-grandma give me her accordion on permanent loan
  • Seeing Mr. Ortega act gangster in Florida
  • Hearing Annette Bellezzo yell "Ya goo beeve!" when I ran over a curb
  • Discussing history with Mike LeBlanc
  • Calling Terry Blaszczak at three in morning with Dr. Ue Gilbert and taking her to IHOP
  • Getting in early to my first choice for college

Ok, I think I have spent long enough on this list, but I know there were a whole heck of a lot more things than just these that have made me happy. There are also more people that make me happy than are represented in this list. It would also make me happy if I saw my fellow seniors (or actually anyone for that matter) make a similar list of memories that have made them happy.
