I wrote a song today. I was walking around the house playing it on my guitar. My dad thought it was about a guy who was breaking up about with his girlfriend. I had to correct and tell him that it was in fact sung from the perspective of a photograph whose owner could not remember the event that it showed and hadn't looked at it in a long time. Here are the llyrics.
I am a photograh
You couldn't remember if you tried
I am the sole survivor
Of just one moment in your life
Cause you're too busy or tired
to look at me
And I'm too dusty or weathered
To hold many memories
And I don't know why
You can't give it a try
And I don't know when
You'll do it again
No, don't let it go
No, don't let it go
No, can't let it go
No, can't let it go
No, can't let it go
No, can't let it go
I am a photograph
You haven't looked at in a while
I an the perfect symbol
Of any point in space and time
P.S. When you don't play guitar for a few weeks and then pick it up and play it for a couple hours, your fingers tend to hurt and sometimes bleed. Gross, yet well worth it.
