Louis is setting a preliminary exam for his new ecology class. Just information gathering to see what they know and learn of their experiences. He'd done his best to set them at ease, but there were still a few frantic revisers and pencil-chewers. He settles down at his desk for a quiet cup of tea.

"Mister Louis, sir? Is, um...is he yours?"
Reply
"Yes. He is mine. Beautiful, is he not?"
Reply
"He's lovely. Very long tail, though. What kind of cat is he?"
Reply
"He is an Andean Mountain Cat. I found him during my travels last year."
...these things are both true.
Reply
"Well, normally I'd be telling you about how you shouldn't try and tame wild cats, but this one seems sweet enough and he looks healthy and happy."
Reply
"Right, you are. But, this one had already been loved and tamed by others around him. I do not think he would be happy in the wild any longer."
He finds the good scritchy spot just under Peter's left ear.
Reply
"Yeah, he looks like a real fuzzball."
Reply
"Sit and finish your exam. I cannot make your syllabus without it."
Reply
"Can I play with him after?"
The cat in question is in happy purring land.
Reply
"Of course. If he wishes to play."
He's still petting and cuddling.

He meets eyes with one distracted boy and indicates that he should refocus on his paper.
