Louis steps in out of nowhere, puts a hand on her back, and kisses her cheek.

"Hello, Alex. It has been far too long."

Louis is grinning and glowing a bit more than usual, and there is a ring on his left hand now.

She raises an eyebrow.

"You settlin' down, sugar? Never saw it coming."

That's saying something.

He smiles and sits down across from her with a pot of tea and two mugs.

"Neither did I. It is wonderous."

Yes, he's still all starry-eyed.

She pats his shoulder and then his cheek.

"Both of you deserved it. Couldn't've happened to two better gods."

He grins and blushes faintly.

"Thank you. We are very happy."

Then, he looks up at her.

"How have you been?"

"I'm fine, but..."

Her eyes widen and she laughs out loud.

"A blush? You? Oh, honey, now I'm curious how all this happened. You know I can't resist a good story."

"I just never expected..."

He blushes a little more.

"The pieces all fell into place last night. I took him to my Home and asked him to be my Consort. He said yes."

"Something coming up and surprising you is out of the ordinary."

She reaches over and runs her thumb over one blushing cheek.

"S'good for you. Little balance for Mista All Knowing."

He nods and nuzzles into her hand.

"It is."

An answer to both statements.

"I thought for a time that it might be you."

She shakes her head.

"Nah, sugar. I got my own road and besides, too much like you to balance anything. We're friends, right enough, but what you got's different."

He nods again.

"So many of them have come to me for one reason or another, and they all moved on eventually. I thought that Peter would be the same."

"Got his claws in you then."

She's grinning though. It's a joke.

"Well, someone had to come along. Now that I think about it, I'm not surprised."

"In my sofa, but yes."

He grins back.

"I probably should not be either."

That gets a SERIOUS eyebrowraise.

"You two wrecking furniture already, are you?"

"Pataya is a cat. It is his Nature."
