The Mentalist 2x05 Red Scare

I enjoyed this episode, and I loved the Halloween influence! The overall character developments were a nice addition and I’m really interested to see how they build on the Rigsby/Van Pelt relationship. Some of my favorite moments were:

·         Cho’s one liners-Cho can do no wrong and he had some great comments to Rigsby. “Dude, you need counseling.” Was just classic Cho and I loved his facial expression when he told Rigsby to “Tell her again.” He looked like he wanted to roll his eyes while the other agent floundered. And when the aunt read his aura…I died laughing. I wondered if Jane would bring him another bottle of dirt like in Red Rum. Hehehehehe-poor Cho, the relationship counselor!

·         Jane had some clever insults (deceitful bag of bones) too, and I’m glad they’re mixing up the terms of endearment he uses! (My incredulous friend (I think) to Van Pelt) It just made me smile.

·         I have to say I grinned when he used the term ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ since that’s the title of my current story. Made me happy! Hahahahaha, it’s the little things, I swear!

·         Rigsby’s confession to Van Pelt was just precious and her reaction was priceless! My mom and I laughed about that for the rest of the night. Darn Jane and his timing. I’m glad they got their kiss in the end (that they both will remember)!

·         Jane’s really starting to pull Lisbon in on his solving ideas and I’m surprised she’s going with them as easy as she does. Must be the koolaid. I did love their exchange about ‘acting’ and her use of ‘bite me’ again. Fits with the Halloween theme too. Hehehehe

·         And that poor kid-he’ll never know what the key unlocks. That would drive me crazy!

·         There were two lines that especially stood out in this episode. They’d make good story prompts as well, and I think reflect back on Jane’s character.

o   “There are no mistakes.” -Jane

o   “Do you think they understand…” -the widow
