Following my entry yesterday, I did what any sensible college student would have done in my shoes: I took a nap. It was apparently the right choice, since I only slept for a half hour but felt infinitely better after I woke up.
Recently I was asked if I took ballet. After I replied no, I was asked if I took any type of dance, gymnastics, or figure skating. Depending on your perspective, fortunately or unfortunately, I don't do any of the above. I have been ice skating, but I don't think that counts. : p They seemed a bit surprised, because I "have the right type of flow for those things". That comment came as a bit of a surprise to me. While I've been involved heavily in music for a long time, it has been as an instrumentalist and vocalist. Although the remark doesn't make me want to rush out and start dancing, it made me start thinking about what prompted the comment in the first place.
I have resolved to put out at least two applications for jobs by the weekend. This is the time to cross my fingers and hope the crummy week I had last week will lend luck to my job search this week.
Despite class being somewhat annoying and being served a less-than-optimal lunch, today was highly productive. Hopefully I can print out some scientific articles so I can get some reading done tomorrow. That might help me get a jump start on what I have to do over the weekend. I was a bit miffed to see that lunch wasn't so great today, since up until this point they had been pretty good. They had better not be trying to poison us again. : p
Good news announcement: My presentation tomorrow was cancelled! Since I only had two days' notice about the presentation, I am glad. Unfortunately, I have a pretty large one next week, so I'm not off the hook completely. However, I will be grateful for the small misery I was spared.
