It wasn't like Aphrodite to be angry or depressed for too long, but then again it wasn't like her to spend part of the weekend made of plastic and unable to close her hand around anything. So, she was being 'emo' and knew it. After counting how many take out boxes were lined up on the table, she decided she had to do something.
Now that she was at the store, she almost wanted to be back at the apartment. Seeing the scene of the crime, as it were, wasn't quite as easy as she'd expected. But she was here for a reason, and couldn't put it off any longer. She made a
phone call, and then
another one. For a moment she considered calling Max, but discarded the idea. At least she knew he didn't hate her when he left the morning after, and that was better than she really deserved.
So, with Hercules in her arms, 'Dite wandered the store, thinking. She decided she really loved owning the store. She'd learned so much, about business, and mortals. But she'd also learned that there was a place where she wasn't a goddess; she was just a shop owner here, and people came because of the shop, not to beg for favors.
"I have -- had -- friends here." She nodded, scratching Hercules. "If I can't be the goddess of love, at least I can own a shop about it." With her new inspiration, she pulled out her laptop from under the counter and began looking for new merchandise. She'd have to decide tomorrow what would go and what would stay. Tonight? New books.
"Cosmic Coupling: The Sextrology of Relationships. Sounds . . . astral." She added it to her electronic cart and looked for another title. "Love Worth the Wait: Trusting God for Real Romance and Real Relationship." Frowning, she clicked the back button. "Absolutely not."
(OOC: Post open, though the store reopens in a day or so. 'Dite is still emo, but she'll get out of that soon.)
