Thank you, Birth By Sleep

You made this SoNami fangirl eternally happy

I mean, from the get go, I didn't believe Namine replaced Kairi in Sora's Memories in the sense that she slapped her face on Kairi's in Sora's Memories. There was another girl, after all, and Sora remembered both girls for a while before he forgot basically everything other than Naminé - yes, including Riku.

Then came 358/2 Days, and it became even clearer to me. Because now, Naminé couldn't have slapped herself on Sora's Memories of Kairi since those were already eaten by Xion. Otherwise, I find it hard to explain how Xion got that specific face (Kairi's) at that specific time (the time of Vexen's death, which is also when Sora completely forgot about Kairi).
Xion needs to have the Memories inside her for her to appear as anyone, and if they're inside her, they couldn't be inside Sora. Therefore - for Sora to remember Naminé, she'd have had to create completely new memories between them - or base herself on someone other than Kairi.

And then came Birth By Sleep and showed me exactly who Naminé was a lot more likely to base herself on.
It explains how come they showed that Memory for Sora, despite it being impossible for Kairi to be there, chronologically wise.
It also explains how come Repliku, who'd have had Riku's own Memories implanted in him, shared that same exact moment.
Mmhm, you guessed it -

SoNami's actually a lot more based on SoRiku than on SoKai, seeing how the Memories of the Promises Repliku and Sora made Naminé are the strongest Memories they had of the girl.

Thank you, Birth By Sleep, for confirming yet another theory of mine <3

sonami, soriku, sokai, kingdom hearts, sora, xion, kairi, birth by sleep
