Well, if you are quite finished with him Nicolas, perhaps it is time that someone fetches him.

It is only a guess, (though a rather obvious one,) but it sounds to me like Louis is depressed. In the extreme.
Perhaps Marius is still willing to help him?

What have you against Marius?  Or is it that you're afraid of an ancient?  Why do the young or younger fear the old or older?

I don't fear the ancient ones, but Marius and I had a minor altercation a while back which left a bad taste in my mouth. I have no desire to see him in my city again.

OK he can be overbearing and a control freak in the extreme sense.

But he is what?  2000 yrs old?  I forget you know.  He's old..Ancient old.  Lived when they had gladiator fights in the Roman coliseum.

Probably met Ovid..In person..maybe even hung out with him and had beers on Fridays..I don't know..I Wonder what Ovid was like as a person - I have read some of his poetry not in Latin English translations my Latin is horrible.

What sort of altercation was it?

Indeed, I did. I said a few things to Pandora that he found distasteful and he paid me a visit one night in 2010. It didn't go well.

I can't remember how old he is. I don't keep track of the ancient ones.

I suppose not, but I think we've managed to avoid any possibility of that happening now. Louis was positively outraged at the slightest mention of the old man!
