100 Moments In Praise of Teen Titans New 52! #003
Moment #3:
In Which I Board a Ship and Name it RedWonder
Firstly, I have to say that I much prefer this design of Red Robin's costume to the last Teen Titans series. Witness:

It's all in doing away with the cowl/hood thing, in my opinion. Also the utility belts look more... utility. Also, the cape is overrated. Red Robin's new cape is actually a set of bulletproof wings. Sweet.
So. When we last left Tim, he was jumping out the window of Penthouse #1. Immediately, he sets to work tracking down Wonder Girl, who he believes to be in danger of being kidnapped by N.O.W.H.E.R.E.
I'm also going to say here that I was not a fan of Cassie (aka Wonder Girl) in the last Teen Titans. (I'm starting to think the only think I liked about that arc was Raven and Beastboy, and I don't even ship them together.) Cassie of then had an All-American Girl vibe, was a leader and really determined. Plus she had Superboy as her boyfriend and the two of them together was like watching Dawson's Creek or something.
This Cassie, though, has a bit of a bitch side to her. Also, She's not even a real meta-human. What puts her on the radar is having stolen battle armor from some ancient temple. Which she is obviously tired of explaining to people. (Her beserk button is anyone talking over her attempts at explanation, calling her 'Wonder Girl'. Because she has zero to do with Wonder Woman, thank you very much.)
The whole "showing up in the nick of time to rescue you from a threat you are totally ignorant of" act is surprisingly not annoying to me.
And then there was this:
Red Robin's reaction to the reveal is many kinds of win. And Cassie gets bonus points for calling him a jerk and then on the next page making the assumption that he was homeschooled.
I guess I'm just into pairings where the girl has this tough persona and the boy is the more rational responsible one.

(If I was any good at drawing, I'd totally do a crossover fanart in which Sam is dressed as Wonder Girl and Freddie as Red Robin. They've got the hair for it.)

The only threats to this newformed ship are Superboy - confirmed in this series - and if Raven shows up and is still my favorite Titan. I always ship Raven with the most available and appropriate Robin.
