It had been a quiet day. Home was quiet. Work was quiet. Even the walk back home was strangely quiet.
She didn't think they'd forgotten, but... maybe they had. With the way everything had been lately, she wouldn't have been surprised in the least, and even more so she really wouldn't have been upset.
Well. Maybe a little. It was kind of a big thing that she'd made it to four years old since her activation. But if they'd forgotten they'd forgotten. She wasn't going to cry about it or anything.
So she headed home with a hope that perhaps her husband had done something small for her at the apartment, softly humming to herself as she entered the lobby of the Hyperion. Just as she was about to approach the elevator, one of the staff digimon came up to her and requested she go to the ballroom. The dots didn't quite connect, and she nodded in confused agreement. Was something wrong?
She opened the door, and was greeted by... darkness? That was not what she was expecting.
"Uhm... h-hello... ?"
"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAKU!"
"GYAAH!"
If it hadn't been for the door behind her, Haku would have fallen on her ass at that. The lights came on, poppers went off and showered the room in confetti and ribbons, and everyone jumped out from their various hiding places. Definitely not what she was expecting.
"G-guys... thank you so much..."
