Nariko's eyes widened as she heard Betamon call from a nearby alleyway. She had come to Junk to visit her father... or rather, the version of her father that lived here, and not for any DATS business. Nevertheless, she ran over to see what Betamon had discovered.
It was a body, alright. Nariko didn't recognize Kats on sight, so she rushed over, unsure of whether this was a Tamer or a digimon. The first thing she checked for was a pulse.
A red-headed boy in a green vest and shorts came around the corner from the street behind Nariko, running on all fours. He could tell that this was the right alley already, recognizing Kats's scent in the area. He didn't recognize the girl or the Betamon though, and from this angle he couldn't tell what they were doing with Kats.
He switched from all fours to two legs mid-run and grabbed Nariko's shoulder.
Without bothering to look, Apollo pulled his foot away and kicked out at Betamon with a steel-toed work boot.
"How the hell am I supposed to know that?"
He let go of Nariko's shoulder just as she was moving back to her starting position for another twist, trying to make it clear that he was letting go because he wanted to, not because she was struggling.
"I'm taking Kats to Tenenbaum so she can look after him. You can leave."

"Leave him alone!"

Betamon, however, was less reserved. He growled and bit at Apollo's ankle.
