The first thing Jinx would hear would be a long wail which transformed itself into a mournful call of; "Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaa", before Lily came rushing towards her.

Face red and tear-stained, her body collided with her mothers stomach with a thud, arms wrapping around her and little hands gripping the back of the teens clothing as she sobbed loudly. "Mama! Mama!"

Jinx winced but bit back a noise of pain and wrapped her better arm around the little girl. "Shh shh shh it's OK I'm home. I'm so sorry honey I didn't mean to worry you." She felt her heart breaking at the sound of Lily's cries as it always did and that just furthered her hate of the woman who had put her in this situation.

While Rouge still harbored a grudge, Lily wouldn't be safe.

She felt the wince and Lily managed to stop herself sobbing for a moment to pull back to look at her mother.

That one look at Jinxs damaged form made Lily's eyes widen with horror and her face crumple as she brought her hands to cover herself and cried into them.

"Honey..." Jinx knelt and used her one arm to scoop up the little girl holding her close and carrying her against her chest. "Mama's gonna be fine. She just needs to spend some time at home with the people she loves most. Like Lily."

Lily just continued to sob, burying her face in her mothers neck, clinging to tightly. "Mama..."

"I'm right here honey." Jinx promised as she moved out of the entrance way into the living room. "And I'm just so glad to be home with my girl." She smiled warmly. She was tough, she could shoulder a little pain in her limbs to sooth her sweet daughters fears.

Lily looked up at her with big, imploring eyes. "Mama got hurt. Badly." Her bottom lip began to wobble.

Jinx felt like knives were digging into her heart...metaphorically that is. Her heart was fine physically. Lily was just that good.

"Mama's OK, she just needs some time to rest. And the bad person ran away when she realized that Mama and Uncle Gar were both there." She lowered herself to sit and brushed Lily's hair back gently.

Lily nodded slowly, nestling into her mothers warm and pressing her face close to catch the comforting scent. "Mama." She mumbled softly, relaxing against her.

Jinx kissed the top of the brown haired girls head.

"And Mama is so proud of her big brave girl for waiting here for me. I know I must have worried you so much." She began to rub Lily's back.

"I missed mama so much." The little girl gave a big yawn, having forgone her bedtime until her mother had returned. "My mama." She gave a small, but bright smile.

"That's right." Jinx purred in a soft voice knowing that Lily was crashing fast. She brought her girls head to her chest so her steady heartbeat would help her drift away. "Mama missed you too. And Mama loves you so much."

"I love you too, Mama." Her eyelids became heavy and she found herself unable to stop herself from laying her head down, soft breathing matching the beat of Jinx's heart.

As her consciousness slipped away from her, being in her mothers hold allowed her to let herself drift back to safest place. "Can you and me and mama go to the park tomorrow?" She whispered, barely awake.

The words were another little jab into her heart. The little one missed her other mother so badly. A woman Jinx had never met but longed to meet more then anything. What kind of amazing woman had she somehow wound up married to that would produce such a sweet angel of a girl? What kind of romance had they had? So many questions, but the most pressing was Lily's question.

"You bet sweetheart." She didn't even have to think about it. "We'll have a great time." She added already plotting out a picnic for them to share, even if she couldn't bring the Mama Lily missed most with them.

There was nothing quiet as soothing as having someone fall asleep in your arms, especially when you loved them.

But no rest for the wicked. There was another emotional love in her life that needed to see her as well.

Once Lily had fallen asleep, it was decided to place her in Jinxs bed as everytime Jinx had tried to settle her down somewhere else, she'd stirred and began to wake, only to drift off once again when she was pressed against her mother.

Thankfully, the warmth of Jinxs large plushy bed and the scent it carried of her on the sheets and pillow was enough for Lily to happily nestle there as she slept on, speaking to the mother who she could only see in her dreams. "Mama, Jinx Mama got hurt again..." A soft giggle. "Tickling isn't a punishment..."

That made Jinx blush and smile as she imagined what delights her potential future held for her. The butterflies alone were enough to make her want to crawl into bed and sleep hoping to tag along in Lily's dreams.

But onto her responsibilities as a big sister. Hana was furious with her and she had to do...something. Anything. First finding him though.

She set off running off a list of Hana's favorite places in her mind. He wouldn't be far she hoped.
