As the party continued, the several of the digimon children from Suoh's class seemed to be willing to tell anyone and everyone who would listen about Suoh's "heroics" at the bridge the week before.

"-- and Guil was all 'aaaaaah! Sensei I'm scared!' and Sensei, he was totally calm..." Otamamon was going on, seeming to embellish a little here and there.

Suoh was standing off to the side, drink in his hand next to Alice. Alice was smirking, while Suoh had a hand against his face.

"I really wish they wouldn't..."

"They admire you, Suoh! That's nothing to be ashamed of!"

Sitting in a circle with the children, Nokoru was listening carefully to their rendition of the story. He was amused at how attached all his little students were to him.

Hatter on the other hand was trying to stay as far away from all the children as possible. It wasn't that he didn't like them. No, he just found them annoying until their voices changed, and even then it was questionable. "Isn't allowing them to tell bizarre, exaggerated stories encouraging them to lie in the future?" He wasn't sure what the correct parental response would be, but he wasn't sure it was sit back, drink fruit punch and allow it to happen.

Otamamon continued his story enthusiastically, including in detail how Kote had refused to leave Penny behind after she'd fallen. Penny was blushing as much as Penmon could, and Kote was looking away, grumbling something inaudible.

"It's in a child's nature to be imaginative, Hatter. There's nothing wrong with that."

"It'd be nice if it wasn't about me..." Suoh grumbled, which only earned another laugh from Alice.

Quatre came over and leaned against Suoh's shoulder. "I think its very cute."

"Well hopefully they're learn that not everything is a fairy tale." Hatte mumbled.

"I hardly call what Suoh did a "fairy tail". Those were some real heroics, grabbing Guilmon before she fell and holding on to her like that."

Suoh was just turning redder by the second, trying to avoid everyone's gaze and failing at it.

"Why are you being such a grouch anyway, Hatter?" Alice asked, giving her boyfriend a rather pointed look.

Hatter shrugged and took Alice's hand. "Getting used to being a normal part of society isn't as easy as its made out to be."

Wrapping his fingers around Suoh's hand as best he could, Quatre pulled him off to the side. "They're just really glad you helped them and their friends Suoh. It will pass in time. But you should know, you're a very good knight in shining armour."

"I suppose," Alice sighed, giving him a smile and a kiss on the cheek, "But thank you for trying."

Quatre's comment only served to make Suoh redder.

"I-I only did what any teacher would have done in that situation..." he muttered.

"Sure..." He said, and kissed her back.

"You're a good person, there's no reason to be embarrassed because you did the right thing. You just wanted to do the right thing and help them. But they recognize just how brave you were. Even if it isn't something you think about most of the time, your students just want to make sure you get the credit you deserve for saving them, in their own way."

"They are just kids..." Suoh sighed, trying to put on a smile despite how embarrassed he was. "I guess I have to get used to the hero worship. I'm sure they're not going to let up on it ay time soon."
