"AAAAAH!" Cyclonis flew over Rock and hit the ground, her staff flying with her and landing right next to it's master. She laid there in shock at what had just happened. Her cape was destroyed and the back of her suit ripped open. Her back was bleeding now and the young empress was in a great amount of pain. With her suit ripped open, base of her collar could be seen. Several needles stuck into her skin and it was obvious she had been wearing that collar for years. She wasn't moving now either, her eyes wide in shock at what had just happened to her.

This time Rock jumped up and, despite the pain he still felt from the beam, attempted to snatch up the staff. Cyclonis didn't look like she'd be getting up anytime soon, but he didn't want to chance it.

"C-Curse...you..." She turned her head, pretty much the only motion she could do at the moment. She glared daggers at Rock and if looks could kill, hers would have. "I...will not...be defeated...by the likes of you."

"It's a bit late for that, don't you think." With that, he started through the motions he usually did with Wily, taking out some rope to tie her up with.

"Do not speak...too soon." Cyclonis smirked as the crystal on her staff began to glow. The entire staff began to shake and suddenly exploded in Rock's hand, unleashing a fairly powerful shock-wave when it did.

"Gah!" Rock tumbled to the ground and was momentarily blinded by the explosion. He instinctively threw up his water shield to hold off any attacks that might come before he could get his bearings back.

Cyclonis held out her hand and for the second time the staff reformed in her hand, though the crystal at the end was now destroyed. Using her staff, she lifted herself off of the ground and stood up. She could no longer fight, but she still had words to say.

"You may have won this battle, but I shall win the war. And tell Elecman he can keep the gauntlets."

No, his mind shouted. She couldn't get away! Without answering, he flung out the shield, droplets spiraling outward in every direction, and hoped he could stop her before she ran.

Cyclonis held out her red crystal and the energy hand sprang out, hitting one droplets and shielding her.

"Not this time, Rockman. Until we meet again." She tapped the staff on the ground and a beam of red light shot up towards the sky. A horrible screeching noise filled the forest before all was silent and Cyclonis was gone.

The silence mocked him and he broke it with his anger filled cries. He was so close and yet she got away! Punching the ground, he glared at nothing and everything. But with nothing left to focus his wrath on, he had no choice but to head for home.
