Jake looked over his shoulder at Haku, his feline eyes narrowing a bit. He had been mad lately and the anger was only getting worse. It wasn't only anger though. Repressed feelings were bubbling up more and more and he was finding it harder to contain them. And her constant poking at him, looking at him with those concerned eyes wasn't helping at all.

He continued to state at her for a good bit. He looked back to his magazine and closed it. He hadn't been reading it anyway, just looking at the pictures. Why was she always poking at him? Why couldn't she just leave him alone?

"I told you, there is nothing to talk about Haku." His voice came out sharp. He didn't want to talk, talking would lead to him spilling it all out and that was something he didn't want to do. But if she kept pushing, he would let her have it.

Onizuka's ear twitched and he patted Hanako on the head gently, "I'm gonna go get a drink kiddo keep my seat warm kay" He said sweetly as if he hadn't heard what was happening behind him. The tension was thick enough though he felt like he might have to swim through it to get to the fridge. "You want anything Hanny?" He called as he passed Jake and Haku to the fridge pulling out a juice box.

"'kay, Daddy, I'll have some juice" She said, then smiled a little and looked at Jake and Haku from the couch, blinking a few times.

"Kitty, even I can tell somethin's wrong, and I'm a kid ..." Hanako pouted.

"Mommy just wants'ta help you ..."

Haku frowned at Onizuka, red eyes watching his movement but keeping her main focus on Jake.

"We can all tell, Jake-kun..." she said quietly, voice sad. "I wouldn't be your friend if I wasn't worried about you."

And that was the problem, she cared. Her caring had started all of this. His feelings had gotten the better of him because of that she had done for him and he couldn't take it anymore. What he was feeling had no chance of coming true and it only pissed him off more.

"Then maybe you shouldn't be my friend? Ever think of that? You'll worry less." Did he mean what he said? He didn't know. He knew he didn't want to be friends. He wanted to be more than that and now that she was married it was impossible. And living here was only a constant reminder of that.

Onizuka closed the fridge audibly. "Take it easy." He warned passing Jake again and passing Hanako a juice box. "Whatever's got your fur in a kink obviously you aren't taking care of it yourself so you might as well spill it." He turned back to face Jake putting the straw into his own Juice box. Eyes daring him to speak his mind.

Hanako kept quiet this time, taking her juice box and putting the straw into it. She watched and listened while quietly sipping at her juice.

Haku blanched noticeably at Jake's words, red eyes focusing on him once more. She was noticeably hurt, but she tried hard to keep it out of her voice.

"You don't mean that."

The words coming from Onizuka and Haku were pushing his buttons now. They wanted to know? Fine. Maybe it would get them to shut the hell up for once.

"I'm pissed. I'm pissed as hell and I'm fucking tired of pretending everything is going to be fine. And you know what Haku?" he turned to her and locked eyes with her, "It's your fault."

Onizuka finished his juice and set the box aside eyes narrow.

"Explain yourself quick cat, and there better be an apology in there somewhere." He warned his eyes flashing dangerously.

Hanako shrunk down so that her eyes could barely see what was going on. She didn't like the way Kitty was talking to her Mom right now, and she could tell that her Daddy didn't quite approve, either.

Haku's eyes went wide at that, a weird, twisting sick feeling coiling in her stomach. She couldn't tell if it was fear exactly, but it was bordering on it. Onizuka actively threatening Jake was only making it worse.

She set her spatula down, using a second to regain her composure before speaking to her husband.

"Honey, watch the food, please," she said evenly, walking out of the kitchen and grabbing Jake's arm, attempting to tug him out the front door of the apartment. He may have been bigger than her, but she still had Vocaloid strength on her side.

Jake didn't resist the tugging. Leaving was the best thing right now and he knew it. Onizuka was pissing him off and he had explosives in his D-Reader. As they left, he shot a hot glare at Onizuka before turning away and leaving without a word. After all, his anger was mostly directed towards Haku at the moment.

They were not having this conversation in front of her family. Not with Oni liable to deck Jake if he continued talking the way he was. But she wasn't going to drop it, either. She couldn't, not when he was putting the blame on her and she had NO idea why.

She pulled him all the way up to the roof, keeping quiet the entire time until they were there. It wasn't as cold as it had been, but a faint wind was blowing when they arrived.

She turned to him, shock gone and replaced with upset and irritation.

"Talk."

"You want me to talk? Fine." Jake walked away from Haku and over to the edge of the roof. He looked down at the street below before turning back to her.

"I am fucking tired of having to keep my emotions in check! I'm tired of having to go day after day with the constant reminder that all I can be to you is a friend! I'm sick and fucking tired that I can't control my emotions and I can't get what I want from you! I don't want to be just friends!" The words came pouring out of the Kat and each of them were true. He was fed up with all of this.

"And I'm tired of you not noticing how I feel!"

Haku listened to him, a little taken aback by hearing it all, but some how... not as surprised as she wanted to be. She had always had a feeling, a little nagging thought at the back of her mind that maybe...

"... I'm sorry, Jake," she said quietly after some silence had passed between them. Her gaze averted, a foot shuffling along the roof's surface worriedly.

"M... maybe if we had met earlier, but... I can't just change how I feel about Eikichi just for you..."
