Gakupo shuffled in to the gym, dressed in a white and purple hakama, his katana slung over his shoulder. He didn't look nervous at all. In fact he seemed very calm outwardly, as if all was right with the world and nothing could possibly get to him.
Internally, though, was an entirely different story. His mechanical heart was racing nervously, uncertainty clouding every thought. More than anything he wished Lance was still there, but he took comforting in knowing that Sarasim had his back.
Sarasim was close behind him in her sweats and a tank top with her sword slung over her shoulder, "Good to see you again Illyria." she greeted pleasantly, her calm voice drifting on the air.
Sarasim strolled her way across he room and took a seat on one of the weightlifting benches, "Just take it easy, try not to cut too deep. Think of it as a training spar." She just hoped Illyria would take that to heart.
"I'll state again for the record how against this I am," Gaku said evenly, pulling out the sword from his sheath, sliding his feet in to a proper stance.
Frowning, Gaku hesitated, uncertain of which way to move. She was open, but he already knew from Lorne's message and her own words that she was far more powerful than she looked. Open didn't mean vulnerable in this case.
He raised his sword, deciding all he could do was attack her head on.
Illyria waited until Gakupo was upon her before acting. As his sword came down, she twisted her body and moved out of the way. Once the sword was down, she brought back her fist and moved to slap Gakupo across the face.
She didn't put too much force behind it, but it would hurt nontheless.
Gaku let out a sharp cry, stumbling a few feet away with his hand on his cheek. He grumbled in irritation, straightening after a few seconds once the initial pain ebbed away, glaring at her angrily.
An annoyed huff showed he was less than enthused with how things were going already, but he nodded charging at her again. This time he reversed the blade in his hand at the last second, swiping upward diagonally and slashing back down again.
Illyria was forced to move her entire body this time. She quickly spun to dodge the first strike. Then the second one came, she used her momentum to spin faster, dodging the blow.
She stopped and quickly raised her foot and kicked at Gakupo, adding more force to this attack.
This time, Gaku was ready for it, catching her foot with one hand just as it connected. He grunted, feeling the force but planting his feet in time to stop himself from being pushed over by it. Naturally it still hurt like hell, and even his the palm of his hand was stinging from the impact.
Attempting to get some distance between the two of them he threw his hand up, intending to send her flipping backwards.
Illyria did indeed flip backwards, landing on her feet as she did so. She started toward Gakupo this time however. She only walked, but her strides are long and fast. She threw a punch at Gakupo, aiming for the android's face.
Internally, though, was an entirely different story. His mechanical heart was racing nervously, uncertainty clouding every thought. More than anything he wished Lance was still there, but he took comforting in knowing that Sarasim had his back.

"I sense little you. You are neither human, demon, nor half-breed. Android, how is it you have only a spark? In what manner did you come into being?"

"That's a long story, and that's not what you called me here for," he said calmly.
