The door opened a few moments later, and there was Rin, in her dark room, looking forlorn and helpless.

"MikuMiku. Help."

Rin was a very proud girl. She didn't like admitting she couldn't do something herself, and she especially didn't like asking for help. But now...

Well. She had to.

Miku pushed her way into the room, shutting the door behind her and immediately grabbing Rin into a tight hug. She brought a hand up to pet her hair gently, her 'onee-chan instincts' taking over and causing her to have the need to comfort her little sister as much as she possibly could manage.

"RinRin ..."

Rin stood there, not hugging back, just stood there.

"I was just awake. I was just awake and HakuHaku was planning her wedding. A-and everything was fine."

Miku only continued to hold her tightly, tears coming to her eyes again. She rested her head on the top of Rin's, biting her quivering lip. She wanted so badly to tell Rin that she was just having a nightmare, that everything was fine. Hell, she wanted to believe that herself. But she knew that the reality they were in right now was the reality that was actually real.

It wouldn't do her sister any good to be reassured of something that wasn't true anymore. It wouldn't, and Miku knew it.

But she found she couldn't say anything. Not anything that would be comforting enough. So she kept silent, simply resorting to holding her and running fingers through her hair.

And Rin was crying now too, but silently.

"I hate it. I hate it, every time I get froze, I wake up and something bad's going on. I don't want bad things to go on anymore. I wanna stop them. I should be able to stop them."

She was just talking now, just talking and talking and not stopping, because if she stopped she might be frozen again.

Miku was afraid of her freezing again, too. She didn't want Rin to freeze again. She was afraid of what she might do if Rin froze again. To herself, to others, to ...

"RinRin, I need you to keep me from doing something ..." She admitted quietly. She still ran those fingers through her sister's hair, and those tears still rolled down her cheeks.

Rin finally reacted, glancing up. Her head moved only slightly, just a little lift. "MikuMiku...?"

Miku hesitated a little before she started talking again. And when she did, she looked anywhere but at Rin.

"HakuHaku has been saying that she wants to cease functioning ... I-I've gotten really big urges to do it for her ..." She bit her lip again, closing her eyes and shaking her head.

"I just can't see my little sister hurting like this anymore ..."

Rin went utterly still. Completely so.

"N-no..." She stepped back. She'd lost the still, doll-like quality. "No, no shutting anyone down!" She curled her hands into fists and stood defiantly. "No shutting down HakuHaku! Shutting down is worse-- worse than anything! What happens when Onizuka-Oniichan wakes up?!" Because he would wake up. "What happens then?! No shutting down HakuHaku! NO!"

"That's why I need you to keep me from doing it!" Miku cried out at her as she stepped away, wrapping her arms around herself and hugging herself as she slid down the door into a sitting position. She looked at the ground. She looked at anything but her sister.

"I-I don't want to see HakuHaku hurt anymore ... a-and it's gotten so bad that I have really, really thought about it, and the urge to do it is getting stronger and I need you to keep me from doing it!" She hadn't told anyone else. She was afraid to. But she knew that Rin would stop her.

Rin looked at Miku. Her perfect sister. The first one, the innocent one, the one who had gotten them so popular, the one she had to be better than but the one that she loved. And Miku was here, breaking down, telling her, telling Rin to stop her.

And as her hands shook, Rin realized she hated this more than anything else. "I'll stop you... I'll do it. I swear, if you even try to shut down HakuHaku, I-I'll stop you. MikuMiku won't shut down HakuHaku. She won't do anything she'll regret."

Miku buried her face into her arms, trying not to cry any more than she already had. She shut her eyes tightly, her shoulders shuddering as she repressed a sob that threatened to make it's way out.

"T-Thank you, RinRin ... I-I'm so scared that I might actually ..."

"You won't," she said forcefully, her hands trembling and her jaw tight, a few tears escaping. "I'll make sure of it."

"Thank you ..." She said again, softly.

"Thank you, RinRin ..."

She felt the drive and determination -- the heated emotions -- leave her and Rin's shoulders slumped. So drained.

"...HakuHaku isn't talking to anyone?"

"She talked to me a little, earlier ... but she sounded so broken ..." Miku herself looked like she was pretty drained.
