Stage One; Fini disables and tortures Lance. Finitevus' Lab in D'ango Forest.warp_ring_techJune 24 2010, 07:24:29 UTC
Finitevus stood before the stairs that led to his lab. He had his plan, and it was time to enact it. He just had to wait for BlackV-mon to make his move.
BlackV-mon was across the room next to Draca.
"Um..Draca. Would you like to go on a walk with me" he asked, sheepishly.
Draca looked up, twisting slightly so she could see BlackV-mon. She was lying on her back, half curled, her paws in the air. "Mmr? Okay~" And she twisted again to roll to her feet, stretching.
Lance looked up from across the room, where he was cleaning his gun, but when Draca gave him a reassuring perked-up expression he dropped his eyes again, taking a breath and letting it out again. he trusted Draca could handle herself, and from what he'd seen of BlackV-mon the 'mon was genuinely fond of her. If it weren't for the fact that Finitevus was his tamer he would have been perfectly willing to trust him.
BlackV-mon motioned for Draca to follow him and walked outside. Once the two were away enough for Lance and the doctor to not hear them BlackV-mon spoke again.
"I want to show you something secret," he whispered to Draca.
Finitevus turned to Lance.
"I will be in my lab should you need me," he said and descended the stairs.
"Ouh." Draca perked up, fluttering wings. "A secret place?" She knew she shouldn't be getting too close to BlackV-mon. She knew that his master wasn't someone they could trust, and she knew that if ordered BlackV-mon would fight her. She was expecting it.
But she also knew that BlackV-mon was, at heart, someone she could be friends with. And for pokemon, you could be someone's absolute rival and still be friends.
"Alright," Lance answered Finitevus without looking up from his polishing. Although he had forced himself to be more ... relaxed ... around the doctor, more like he trusted him at least to some small extent, he still hadn't made any pretense about wanting to spend all his extra time around him.
BlackV-mon smiled and led Draca a bit deeper into the forest. He stopped and turned to her. "It's here," he said, his voice breaking slightly. Without warning he charged Draca and threw his strongest punch, aiming for her head.
Finitevus came back up the stairs, holding his D-Comm. He flipped it shut and put it back into his cloak, his hand pausing for a moment inside. He looked at Lance and drew his smoke bomb. He threw it, hitting the activation button as he did. A screen of smoke erupted from the device. Finitevus didn't wait however, an orb of black digisoul appeared in his hand and the threw it where he knew Lance had been sitting, hoping to not give the man enough time to react.
Draca was looking around at the trees, marking the path back, taking in clues--just enjoying the scenery. BlackV-mon's punch took her completely by surprise; she was flung back against a tree, rebounding off the trunk and rolling, stunned, to the ground, before she realised what he'd done.
He surprised us. Her head hurt. H- he ... She knew they'd have to fight. Just--not like this. This wasn't how friends fought. Dazedly she staggered to her feet
( ... )
BlackV-mon charged Draca again, tears streaming down his face.
"YOU SPY! V-Head!" he yelled as he threw himself at her, aiming to headbutt her in the chest.
Finitevus opened a Warp Ring in front and in back of himself after he threw his attack. He knew Lance would strike back, and he was right. The shots fired went through one Warp Ring and out of the other.
"I know your secret, Lance." Finitevus said as he closed his rings and ran to the left, throwing another orb of Digisoul into the smoke, this one aimed at the floor. It was meant to disperse the smoke so the two could see each other.
Draca managed to dodge the attack, but her head was swimming and her movements weren't as smooth or sure as she would have liked. She couldn't even begin to answer him; it was true. Gunshots rang out and she jerked around. It wasn't even a conscious decision--she just made to rush back to the cottage.
"And what secret would that be," Lance said through gritted teeth as he pushed himself further up on the wall. He already knew. Damn damn damn! What was the bet BlackV-mon had attacked Draca outside? He knew he'd been letting her get too close to the 'mon. She would never expect a sneak attack from someone she classed as 'friend'. He shouldn't have even let them get separated. You fool!
His aim traced the sound of Finitevus's voice, and he fired again. Only once--that was when the digisoul hit the floor, making the smoke gust back. His clothes and hair were caught by the blast, and he tilted his face away to try and protect his eyes, even while he groped for Hooshah's pokeball.
Finitevus dived to the side when he heard the shot. The shot grazed his shoulder, but he could bear with the pain. He turned to Lance and smirked. He was looking away. He opened a Warp Ring beneath him and fell out from a ring above Lance. He aimed to kick Lance, and hoped to knock him to the ground.
BlackV-mon chased after Draca and dived to tackle her. "I WON'T LET YOU GET AWAY!" He cried out.
Lance's head jerked back around as soon as he thought he could open his eyes and not be blinded--just in time to see Finitevus vanish completely into the Ring. The hum of technology above him was what alerted him to the destination; he pushed off the wall to try and dodge, but his leg complained, and instead he lifted his arm to block the kick, the blow forcing him off balance again.
He fell--away from the wall this time, landing heavily on his back and making him gasp for breath, pain sparking in the back of his head where it hit the floor. He didn't drop his gun, but for a few precious moments he couldn't muster the thought process to aim it again--couldn't see Finitevus to do so.
BlackV-mon landed on Draca back and she tumbled to the ground, rolling, kicking out to get him off and coming back to her feet with a snarl. "This is not how friends fight!"
Finitevus ran quickly over towards Lance's gun arm, aiming to kick the gun from his hand. When he went to kick the pistol, his foot was surrounded in digisoul, to give it an extra kick.
BlackV-mon was thrown off of Draca and landed on the ground. He quickly got back up as well and glared at Draca. "Friends?! You lied to me!" BlackV-mon charged Draca. "Boom Boom Punch!" he whirled his arms around, trying to pummel Draca.
Lance's response to the sound of Finitevus's footsteps was to try and roll away, but dizziness made his head swirl and although the strike was glancing, the added influence of the digisoul was more than enough to make him lose his grip as pain sparked down his wrist.
"Nng--" He kicked out at Finitevus with his foot and rolled away, onto his feet, his hand darting toward Hooshah's pokeball.
She crouched in preparation, looking back at him baldly. "We didn't! We came with Master to protect him, we helped him spy--but we never lied about being your friend! And this is not how friends fight!"
She ducked and dodged, a little unsteadily, opening her mouth to blast fire at him if only as a distraction. She didn't want to fight him like this--but she would if he made her.
The doctor stumbled and fell over from Lance's kick. Finitevus was getting angry. He opened a Warp Ring, the other one opening by Lance's arm. The doctor reached through the Warp Ring and grabbed a hold of Lance's arm that was going for the pokeball.
"Oh no." he said as he pulled with all his might, bringing Lance's arm through the Warp Ring. He then closed the warp ring just enough for Lance's arm to be caught tightly in between the portals, trapping that arm.
BlackV-mon could feel the doctor's anger, along with his own.
"Liar!" he yelled as he jumped away from the fire blast. "You used me! You want to hurt the doctor. You want to take him away from me! Hopping Kick!" BlackV-mon ran and jumped at Draca, aiming to kick her with both his feet.
The yank took Lance by surprise, pulling him over, and although he braced himself to pull back his position was too awkward to gain any ground before the Ring closed over his arm.
He hissed, pulling back anyway, glaring daggers at Finitevus as he reached around for the pokeball with his injured hand.
"He hurts others! We had to stop him!" Draca shouted back, light flashing over her skin as she evolved into her adult form. The pound in her head didn't leave and dizziness swirled around her as she reared up to knock him aside, but it wasn't bad enough to put her out of the fight. Not nearly enough.
Lance's fingers closed on air, a split second after Finitevus had taken Hooshah. Dammit--!
Taking a breath, he rolled so he could tilt his throbbing head and keep Finitevus in sight even sprawled over the floor, his face set stonily but eyes blazing.
"By hurting people! We don't need to know more than that! Anything that wants that much pain to happen for it to work isn't worth it!" Draca ducked under the beam, close to the ground, launching herself at the other digimon.
BlackV-mon was across the room next to Draca.

"Looking for his?" he asked as he held the ball up and stepped away from Lance.
BlackV-mon was struck and knocked aside, this time it was his turn to be knocked against a tree. The child digimon got up and glared at Draca.
"He wants to save this world! You know nothing about him!" Light surrounded him and he now was in his adult form as well.
"X Laser!" he called out, launching his beam attack at Draca.
