Terra was now outside with the group who would be holding back the army. They needed to buy enough time for everyone else to get out through the evacuation routes...and they needed to buy them even more time to figure out how to truly escape, if the lightposts really were blocked.

Or maybe... Maybe DATS-- No. She stopped that thinking. They couldn't amass anything in time.

She stood, fists clenched but trembling, ready to fight.

[ ooc: Okay, this is the fighting post! If anyone can think of any other threads, please make a general one like this-- like if you want to log the evacuations, please do! Keep in mind there will likely be no fighting there. Any other ideas, go ahead with or run by someone (mods or high ups in the Inns) if you are not sure. ]

"Terra...!" Sasami called out, racing over to her teammate and friend. Jason and Cruger had already joined the group and Sasami had made sure Karin was one of those who escaped. "...this is it, huh?"

She looked out towards the army. "A lot different than before... though, I think we can handle it..."

A pink blur raced up, and landed in a crouch next to the two other young women.

"Terra-chan, Sasami-san," said Mako's voice from behind the helmet. "I'm... ready to fight."

Meanwhile, Kevin was approaching this situation with his usual grace under fire.

"Come on, everyone here get your weapons," he said, standing over a box of appropriated Commandramon M-16 Assassins. "Anyone who can't fight, or needs one, come and get a weapon. Just remember, you owe me once this is over."

Havoc ended up being one of the people to take a gun. He just stood, silently, bereft of a cigarette for the first time in a while, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Beastboy was already at Terra's side, Isha standing by his feet glaring out at the oncoming threat.

"Don't suppose they'd leave if we just asked nicely do you think?" He joked lamely.

A droning buzz from above served as a reminder of Jinx and Cannonbeemon's presence. The warship Digimon hovered, his sights set on the army waiting to open fire with a barrage of missiles or laser canon.

Jinx stood ontop watching her D-comm. It was uplinked to various security cameras set up along the escape route. With the size of her digimon it made more sense for her to manage the escape route via hook up and people on the inside while she remained outside to help with the battle.

"Please don't blow up my shop, please don't blow up my shop." She muttered to herself.

"You stop it."

"Your taste sucks."

Despite the heavy situation Noir was having an argument with Agatha, the Warthog's A.I, about what music to play.

"I don't wanna listen to your crappy J pop bubble gum while we're mowing down Digijerks." Noir complained jabbing the dial on the CD player."

"Well too bad we aren't listening to that crap you call rock. You wouldn't know rock if it bit you in the-"

"Please shut up both of you before I beg Gaia to pass me a grenade." Picodevimon sighed from the shotgun seat leaning luxuriously with her legs up on the dash.

"Put your feet down." Noir and Agatha responded at the same time.

"Don't make me come down there!" Gaia warned from her position on the main gun. "No fighting, remember we've gotta blast through the ranks once Terra gives the go-ahead."

She was proud of her alter/mother/thing right now, but also very worried. She knew very well if they tried to stay too long or didn't pull out in time what kinds of consequences could come.

"Suzaku, you doing alright?" Her partner was clinging to the outside of the gun, ready to take off and evolve if need-be.

"Oh, just another crisis, potential war. Nothing I'm not used to, I'm fine."

She scoffed. "Teenagers."

Hitomi was over by both Terra and Sasami, frowning a bit as she waited. "We're... this is it. We knew it was going to be like this eventually..." She shook her head. "If only this world didn't block off the majority of our power..."

"I know..." Sasami said, wishing right now she had her connection to Tsunami... or at the very least had BONDED with her before her return. "I guess we have to make do with what we got..."

"An army just to deal with us." Cruger said, already in his Shadow Ranger form. "Ravemon isn't pulling any punches, that's for sure."

"Our enemies never have." Jason said, already morphed into the Red Ranger. "Just this time, we're on the defensive. It's going to be like the Dark Specter's attack all over again."

The delay that came from the Tetha Forces' assault on Vergil was not destined to last forever. As the small wave of forces descended on Vergil, Colonel Silphymon strode forward through the batallion, continuing to shout orders to his soldiers. "Osprey and Kingfisher squadrons! They're mounting a resistance, advance and probe them! Try to poke a hole and see what they're made of! Everyone else, stand ready, we've already dawdled too long! Let nobody in those structures remain standing!"

With those orders, two more squads broke off from the main force and charged the inns. In addition to their natural abilities, each and every digimon was armed with extra equipment: small arms, grenades, and blades for close quarters combat. And as they approached, the two squadrons opened fire with weapons and their ranged attacks.

Behind them, the main force slowly advanced forward. The fight in their midst seemed to be distracting them somewhat...

Terra clenched her fists and Gotsumon evolved straight to Gigasmon. "EVERYONE, DEFENSIVE POSITIONS!!"

Gigasmon's Hurricane Bomber served only to block on-coming fire-- not attack. The weaponry nicked his fists, but the attacks-- Adult level-- didn't cause much damage, luckily.

And Terra? She looked at Sasami. Guardian up time?

A slight nod was all Sasami needed to let Terra know she was right on the money. As some of the other projectiles came at them, Sasami shouted out "GUARDIANS, UNITE!" as she brought her fist to the ground. As she did, Quintessence flared up as a barrier as she took her Guardian form.
