Not long after C.C. stepped into the establishment, another figure stepped inside. He really hadn't expected her to come here of all places, but he wasn't exactly upset. Perhaps the only problem with it was an overabundance of witnesses. And really, that wasn't a problem for him. He wasn't wearing signature coat, nor was he wearing his usual glasses, and even his hair was styled differently. He looked less like a pirate, and more like an underachieving middle manager.

Even with his wanted status, very few people would be likely to recognise him. He'd never met C.C. in person, either. Hopefully she wouldn't even see him coming.

But, somewhere in the back of his mind, it seemed to him that it would be a lot less fun. Still, with what he had in mind, needless risks in the name of fun would only be a harm. He had time to be patient. With all that in mind, he stepped into line behind his target. She only seemed to go out for this... interfereing in the ritual would be counterproductive to his plans.

Receiving her pizza from the front counter, she turned to find a seat, passing by Gilder. She paused and tapped her foot for a moment, before halfway glancing back at him.

"Staring is rude, you know."

"Ah, sorry," Gilder said, ducking his head slightly. "I... uh... just thought you..."

He swallowed and shook his head, glancing back at her. "Nevermind," he said. "Hey, soon as I grab my slice, can I join you?"

The bumbling act was almost painful. But it served a purpose. He caught her order, after all, and found what she'd been drawn out for. Everything else from here was easy.

Arching an eyebrow high, she looked back ahead of her and began walking towards her seat again.

"And why would I want to do that?"

"Come on," Gilder said, cultivating a hurt look. "I promise, I'm not gonna bore you or anything..."

He cast a lonesome look after her. Oh, even with the pitiful act, he could have a little fun with his words...

C.C. stopped, blinked a bit, and then rolled her eyes, waving a hand behind her. "Don't care~"

As she said that, she plopped herself down in her seat, setting the food down. PicoDevimon sighed and settled down next to her, resigned in the fact she wasn't likely to get any.

"Man," Gilder lamented, turning to the counter. "Crash and burn..."

He placed his order, and a short while later took his pizza back to a table, just behind C.C.

"I bet you probably never even give guys like me a chance," he said, his back to her as he took a bite of the slice.

C.C. furrowed her brow. She was getting moderately annoyed.

And wishing she hadn't left her gun back in her room.

"...nope," she said, simply, between slices. She was starting to almost hurry through it, on account of this bozo not letting her enjoy it in peace.

"You really have no idea what you're missing," he said defensively. "I mean, sure, I don't look like I could show a woman a good time, but I'm interesting! Really!"

It was a testament to his self-control that he kept a straight face as he ate. This little dance was turning more and more fun by the moment...

C.C.'s irritation grew more than a bit. THIS is why she didn't like going out with people. Because people were, in general, to her, rather stupid. This guy was just proving her right.

Doing her best to ignore him, she finished her pizza in record time... with PicoDevimon practically salivating next to her. Then, without a word, she grabbed the Digimon by the wing and hauled her off as she stood up and made her way towards the door.

At this point, Gilder had to consciously remind himself that he was NOT here to have fun. CC was giving him exactly what he wanted, and then some. If he could get her to run... well, it would be the icing on the cake. Polishing off his own slice of pizza, Gilder got up from the booth and followed behind her.

He wasn't saying anything, now. That would be pushing his luck. As is, she had just as much chance of turning to confront him as she did of trying to leave him eating her dust. But if he had her personality pegged... he was almost certain that she would see the former option as a waste of her time.

And as it was... C.C. just attempted to walk straight past him, and into the street. PicoDevimon was... just being dragged away, complaining the whole way.

Gilder made no move to stop her, instead simply following her. "You really should at least give me a chance..." he protested, his tone ringing with defeat.

Honestly, now he was simply bantering to get a suitable distance away from the business.

C.C. was certainly getting annoyed by this point.

She held up PicoDevimon.

"Give me one of your Darts."

"What? NO," snapped the little demon.

Sighing, she just... flung PicoDevimon unceremoniously off to the side, raising two fingers to her temple. She wondered if she could have DATS shoot him on sight if she got that far...

"Hah, and people doubt me when I say that I can have any woman dance exactly the way I want them to," Gilder said, the tone of his voice changing to one full of confidence and assurance.

It was a signal.

Not even a half a second later, a net was thrown down from the sky, aimed straight for C.C. and PicoDevimon. Gilder simply shifted his body weight discreetly, waiting to see whether she'd react on her feet, of get caught in the surprise attack.

C.C. was normally quite the perceptive woman. Still, the man had been working her nerves, and she wasn't QUITE expecting what came. As soon as she heard his tone change, though, she spun around... just as the net was starting to fall around them.

She tried to dive out of the way, but wasn't quite fast enough, the net catching both her and her partner.

PicoDevimon shrieked, trying to claw her way out. "Oh, NOW look what you've gotten us into...!"

C.C. ignored her, grasping at the netting and glaring at the man.
