Dart glanced down at Ana, then back up Daisuke. "Well our wheelchair bound ward has something she'd like to talk about." He sat down in the chair next to Ana, resting his hand on her knee.

Ana shot Dart a sharp look.

Leave me to do all the talking...

Taking a breath, she looked back at Dai, finally blurting out rather rapidly, "IwantojoinDATS."

Daisuke blinked once. Twice.

"... come again?"

"I... want to join DATS."

"In the MEDical department." Dart added quickly. "Its not a horrible idea...and its on the condition that Ana takes a few classes to continue her medical training."

Dai seemed stuck in a half-shocked, half-incredulous expression, which instantly got turned on to Dart when he spoke.

"Their condition or yours?" he asked sharply, seeming to get that they'd already had a conversation about this before coming to him.

"... his. And I already have an interview. I spoke to Miss Takamachi in DATS command over the comm network," Ana admittedly, looking at her lap and fidgeting.

"And I didn't see this on the network why?" Daisuke asked, though he had a feeling he already knew the answer.

"... I locked it."

"From me?"

Ana nodded. Daisuke let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Ana, you can't even walk right now!"

"She's not going to be in a wheel chair forever, Dai. And Ana's an adult, younger than the Ana we know, but still an adult." Dart pointed out.

"Okay, that aside..." Daisuke sighed, keeping his quiet doubts to himself the moment, "DATS is dangerous. Even more so with all the things that are happening

"Hardy...Ilyana, please." Dart said slowly. "This is not going to help anyone, or get us anywhere. Look, it sucks that the one good law enforcement establishment is a dangerous place to work. But she won't be in any more danger than I am."

Daisuke let out a tired, irritated sigh. Ana had gone quiet again, staring at her hands and clenching her fingers in to her skirt.

"I'm half convinced the reason no one fucks with you is because of who your boss is..."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Dai...but my job here is less dangerous than it was at home. But I still did it...not even because I liked it. I hated working for the government, but because I needed to. Sometimes, if you're lucky, what you have to do, and what you want to do coincide. Sometimes they don't. But no one can live in a glass box their entire life."

He stood up and went to sit next to Daisuke on the couch, "We can worry all we like, but the fact is, this is what Ana wants to do. And having the people closest to her deny her of that isn't right."

"She'll be stationed at Royal Base, where I'm sure her boss will be nearly as scary as mine. Its more protected than the other HQs, and are currently having their security updated..."

Daisuke let out an sigh, slumping forward and putting his face in his hands.

"That's not going to stop me from worrying... I don't want anything to happen to either of you..."

"And you're allowed to worry." He combed his hand through Daisuke's hair. "It'll be okay."

"Mrg..." Daisuke grumbled, sitting up a little. "Alright... you can go..."

"Really?!"

"Yes..." he smirked a little, looking back at Dart, "Guess that makes me the house wife now, eh? Stupid unemployment..."

He gave Daisuke a peak on the cheek. "If you're good I'll show you the secrets of ironing later."

"I don't want to learn how to iron!" Daisuke whined.
